Thanks baxslash!
I plowed through some of the beginner tutorials last night and peeked ahead at the more advanced stuff. I'm very impressed with DBP! This kit seems very well thought out and fairly easy to follow (even for me!)
A technical aspect of our current art project may be of interest here: my wife and I have been experimenting with
iPi Studio for a couple of years now. This is a inexpensive markerless mocap system that works with six Playstation 3 Eye cameras and a desktop PC. We're currently using it to animate our second short film and getting very good results. (Blog entry here if you're curious:
What's the Scoop on 'Poop'?)
Anyway, once we get done wtih the film project, we're planning to use this system to create character animation for a DBP game. This will be mostly new territory for us, so you can expect me to post a lot of questions along the way. (Hope we don't get too annoying.)
If all goes well, I'll be sure to create an iPi-to-DBP tutorial and share it here.
