DarkBASIC Professional Discussion / Dark Lights crashing on win 7

I've tried every compatibility mode now, and as stated, it just keeps on crashing when I try to render lights. I got it to work ONCE in windows 98 mode (as was suggested somewhere on the forum) but although the lights rendered, I was unable to load my own objects and was stuck with the default building.
I'm on a laptop and don't really have the option of installing XP, will I need to find a new lightmapping tool?
It so, or if not, any suggestions would be mucho helpful.

Have you upgraded video card drivers, installed latest DirectX, yadda yadda yadda?

Is this code that was working on XP, and stopped working when you tried it in Win7?

Have you tried re-compiling any of the demos that come with Darklights to see if they still work?

I've not got it to work on vista eather. Every time I load an external file and try to save it, it crashed. so I tried to program it in manually(using my externally created models in both .x and dbo format) and it It caused the model (I.E. Floor or terrain) to dissapear everytime i tried to map shadows onto it). It may be something I'm doing, I dont know.

I tried all of the demos that come with Darklights and they all compiled and ran fine for me. I use Win7 X64.
Any chance you can give an example of code that crashes for you? I can test it on my side.
