I think, I know a thing a thing or two about various aspects of FPSC but, when it comes to use shaders on anything I am a complete noob.

What I would greatly appreciate is a simple comprehensive list, which gives recommendations about what shaders to use and where to get them.

Example:

GC Store Character models by Placeholderguy
--> dummyshader.fx (Model Pack XY)

Model Pack YZ segments
--> randomshader.fx (stock shader from FPS Creator/files/databank/shaders)

EarthlyWizards Fantasy Props Pack
--> EarthylWizards free shader EW.fx (download in this threadhref]link[/href])

Usually I am not "requesting" stuff, but I guess I am not the only one who would be happy with something like this

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

I know this is an old thread, but I could use a "get started with dark shader" tutorial myself

Hello The Storyteller 2001

You are not alone in this subject and I'm with you on this request and would be very helpful to us all (my opinion of course!).

However, in nowdays using the shader FPSC is a kind of trial and error game.

You choose a shader to using, then you got your entity too bright or too dark or too shady when it does not totally ruin your scene or entity.

Then you choose another shader then realizes that nothing happens, then you try again, this time I know I will get the right one, you think, then choose another and bang! it does not work again and you think now, wow! I almost got the right thing this time, I think I'll choose another stuff, now it should works .... I have faith, but now .... definitely ruined it at all.

This could all be avoided with good documentation made by the authors of shaders, because they know better than anyone how best to use the shader.

Also, you could check this thread http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=182256&b=21 titled
"Please, documentation is essential in EffectBank scripts folder for beginners."

It may be useful for you, who knows!

Cheers.
