Is there a way to make it so when you shoot an enemy they will not be knocked-back. I've read changing the weapon type in the gunspecs to 1 should disable knockback but it did not help.

Thanks in advanced

are you talking about the gun or the character

Weapon

That is what guns do in real when you fire them, AKA recoil, it was added to make the weapons more realistic. You can edit how the gun operates (Including recoil) in the weapons gunspec, which can be found in the gunspec.txt

Character
You may be able to remove the animation from the .fpe file, or by decreasing their health so they can't fall over twice.

LOTR fan?

I'm talking about if I were to shoot an entity then the entity will slide backwards a little. It's not too big but it's enough to make it so a pistol can hold off a melee enemy forever, making a single melee enemy completely useless against the player.

What I would like is either a setting for the entity to not slide back when shot, or a setting for the gun not to slide things back when shot.

And yes, Lotr fan

When you make your changes to your scripts are you closing FPSC, running the cleaner, starting FPSC back up, then testing again?

Change gunspec damagetype=x to =1 to eliminate knockback effect.

1 no knockback or knockdown

2 causes knockback and sometimes knockdown.

3 causes knockdown.

I think I have a better understanding now. When my gun was set to 1, it was causing minimal knockback, or you can call it no knockback, it is very insignificant compared to the damagetype 2 knockback, but that is what is bothering. I think it is in the source code that when an object is shot, it will go back a little, regardless of knockback settings
