A while ago I saw this thread about a HUGE game that every one was excited and it had lots of new features. I think it was called E.V.E but I searched and cant find it.. The characters were like bots I think. Does anyone know the game I\'m talking about?

ELE it turned out to be vapourware, some doubt it even existed in any form as it was just a load of screenshots.

Actually now that I think about there may have been a gameplay video among the numerous intro videos they released but still they just vanished without trace, if the company existed for real they never posted here only the one guy who appeared to have nothing to do with its creation only promoting it. Spanish I think, but whateverit vanished in a puff of smoke and that wasnt the first thread either.
Even refering to it is still kinda taboo around here as it was a complete let down.

Wow. That is a let down. I just watch some game play videos, and really, 'they' did really good work all probably just as a hoax.
So the name of 'unspoken game name' is forbidden to say?
Haha cool

Are you guys talking about a specific game or the WIP board in general?

As far as I know, the team was bought / hired / contracted by a company for "casual" games, worked on a project for them and then disappeared.

Basically ELE caught the attention because of very good custom media and the fact that they had segment shaders when everyone else was frustrated and angry about our own futile tries to get them working. If you remember, I got them to work, but only in single rooms / areas, and with sometimes distorted angles.

Now, quite some time later, I`m pretty sure they showed us only the parts that loked awesome, but I doubt they had really a at least 80% functioning game.

Hehe, good point. Although I always try to release at least one level of any Idea I present in the WIP, I know remember having made a vaporware, too - but that`s quite long ago and it made it at least to some beta testing

Yea, they showed a 5 minute gameplay and 2 trailers of small rooms, anyone could easily do that now in a couple weeks, to make custom media, then throw it together.

Nope. Doing AWESOME custom media within the Poly restrictions for FPSC is a hell of a job and I respect everyone who is capable of doing that. I can`t and I know that. People who make really good 3D models for FPSC have a good reference at hand to work on NDS / 3DS / iOS projects.

I agree, it is difficult, but all the guns I've made, I modeled in a couple hours or so, and quiet a few people have said it could Compete with Henry Ham's Scar (They said this about my Scar with EoTech site, email me if you want to see a picture)
But then again making 5 minutes of gameplay with all custom media would be hard.
