I need foliage for my FPS; Trees, shrubs, flowers, ect... But I was wondering how most people get their plant models. I know from experience that modeling trees and plants is difficult and very difficult to model them to look good. So how should I get high quality trees and plants? Do I model them, should I get Treemagik or plant life, or should I just buy a model pack (my least preferred method)?

Treemagik and Plantlife is probably a good idea...

Yeah. They work and are worth the cost if nothing else for the textures.

You might also look around for just plant, flower, and tree texture packs, then come up with your own models for them.

Tree Party looks pretty good, but can be somewhat difficult to work with. I'm in the process of rewriting a lot of the Tree Party include and shader code to make it fit my needs.

I got the demo of treemagik, is it worth $20 for making high quality tree models?

TreeMagik is good. I'm probably going to use a combination of TreeMagic and Tree Party trees for added variety.

It's worth the $20, and Tree Party is worth the $34.

Tree Party is not included in the Bonanza Pack, only Tree Magik...

EDIT: And Plant Life is included also...

If you know how to, it's realy easy to make nice trees on your own. First make a leaf texture. Just paint a leaf in gimp/photoshop or take a picture of one. Copy and paste the leaf all over a square transparent texture.

Then make the model. Make one plane and add the leaf texture to it. then copy paste the plane and rotate evry new one a bit. Then make a trunk and your done...
