I didn't find anything about the PC version... Sent them an e-mail, but haven't heard anything yet (could have deleted it accidentially when I was getting rid of all the 'Microsoft Update' emails), so I might send them one again later.

Divide'
The best weapons for killing flood is a combo of the shotgun, and the machine gun - Shotgun will kill the jumping slashing guys, machine gun will wipe out the little critters - the shotgun is great on the hardest last bit where they keep comming, you can keep shooting even when you need to reload, just keep the firebutton pressed the whole time and get used to the timing, like move aim fire, move aim fire. The flood was my favourite bit, because there were so many of them comming at you - when you wipe them out it feels damn good - plus a little later the covenant start fighting the flood and the sentinels do their share.

Hehe, who lives in Chichester, damn girlie town by the sounds of it, perhaps everyone from Chester with a stutter decided to make their own town where they could be free from mockery.

I thought everyone knew the Halo story.
You can come along and sulk if you like - you have to pay all your expenses though

Oh yes ? And who lives (apparently) on Button Moon then ?

Likewise here...

Bet Perfect Dark 2 wont be coming out on the PC...

I finally managed to get Spy Hunter 2 by the way - Asypr certainly took a few liberties with the quality, but its not too bad...

Yeah, take some time to admire all the bump mapping and cube mapping, some of it is really gorgeous, especially the frozen waterfall if you can find it.

I think your right about the plasma grenades - I've seen them knock them off, especially the bug hunter dudes. If you want a real laugh though, park a jeep on top of a load of grenades and get out and throw a plasma on the ground in front of the Warthog - the whole lot goes up . One of my fave games on it is just Warthog duels - play multiplayer with 2 jeeps and just try and knock your oponent out and run them over - great fun.

Quote: "Sorry if I spoiled it for anyone but the legendary difficulty was named very appropriately"

Which is why I'm not going to bother trying.

Quote: "That's because halo's super weapon wasn't triggered! it was merely the crashed space-ship that caused that damage"

Even so, exploding engines + Halo's weapon should have produced something rather more exciting than a cracked Hula-hoop.

Quote: "I just carried on and gained an extra minute of time in the process... "

Same here (I did it after the first few failed attemps) - any why not ?

Its a shame the game crawls when all the settings are set to maximum...

some areas of the bump and cube mapping is just really crap though... the game visuals varies, but when it wants to be it can look just breathtaking

as for PD2, there is actually some controversy over it atm ... because Rare have taken it off thier 'Microsoft X Games' list, it's still being developed - but they've said that they're not looking at a Microsoft publishing for it. Oki so $50 says that it still isn't going to be out on the PC, but they still have a THQ publishing deal for Nintendo consoles.
This is pure speculation on my part, but i wouldn't put it past them ... its pretty imfamous how much Rare hate the XBox

Button moon though - geez that takes me back just chibi raven sitting infront of the tv those were the days
i found a stack of old Story Teller books & tapes today from the junk i have stored in boxes ... god knows why me momn packed them - probably was sick of having them in the loft.

any of you guys remember them?

van berk you're a fool if ya dare!.

anyway i think halo is very overatted, the fun bit about multiplayer was the bash kills. apart from that not much. though bloodgultch suited the game very well, they should get an award for that map. anyway i reckon if you want fun multiplayer, GET JEDI KNIGHT 3!!! awesome multiplayer and if you loved bash you will love the kick attack on double saber, kick them of ledges like this guy did to me or if your power duelling (when your sabers lock and u rapidly press attack) if you right attack with dual sabers you throw your second one and it floats around and cuts the guy inhalf, thats right, INSTANT KILL! many a duel i have one to that move.

JK3 seemed rather lame to me. I found it amusing how I could blow my (annoying) tagalong companion in single player with a packload of grenades, blast her head with lasers, etc, and I'd still run over and weep over her dead body when she died. Split personalities anyone?

JK3 isn't that far from JK2... and JK2 runs on slower systems and is $14.99 i know which i'd choose.
sides no one ever fights on the servers, pisses me off. They do on the JK3 ones atm, but give it a few weeks ... they'll all go back to using it as a connection heavy IRC

JK3 wasn't bad - had to cheat on the end of game boss, but aside from that it was certainly worth it.

it was good... but to be honest it should've been an addon pack for JK2 rather than a new title.

True - it didn't add anything particularly new, which they could have done, like drive an AT-AT/AT-ST (mind you, Rogue Squadron 2 is out sometime).

The controls for the speeder was awful.

I saw this post and since I just spent the past 6-8 hours on a "HALO-high" trying to reproduce a lucky 15 second Warthog jump on co-op I decided to post here as well.
Van B is the man to listen to about HALO PC's feel and graphics. My friend bought it, didn't have a good enough computer to even run it, and he tried it on three others and got the same result. He put it on mine and it worked since I had a Geforce 2 MX. At first we hated it, but then as the chaos rose over the net we loved it more and more. It's a great game, the onliy thing they could do to change is make the graphics work a little nice on lower-end computers.
Sorry for the long post, but I gotta finish with a respone TCA's post. If you read the Fall of Reach, you really grasp the concept of the hatred toward humans that the covenant have. Not only do they broadcast their religious quest like some Afghanistan terrorists, but no covenant woudld even touch a human gun. I guess you could say otherwise since the sergeant and that on elite kind of get along at the end of Legendary(trying not to spoil), but I imagine that was added just for humor.
I think the real thing behind HALo is it's the most non-linear FPS out for a long time, if any time at all. James Bond is always good, but the newer ones kind of got annoying when Q of some bond-girl kept on telling you what to do and spoiling everything! I replay HALO levels several times over just to see the different ways I can do things (I can get banshees, ghosts, and warthogs in scary places). Not to mention the famous Silent Cartographer co-op Warthog Jump, those are so fun.

Juvy

Haven't read Fall of Reach - its too blatantly commercial.

So The Covenant are totally preoccupied by their religious quest to even comtemplate a temporary truce. So, what would they do when they're defeated ?

i havent played jk3 single player through yet, i've re installed a few times so i've lost my saves. but im thinkin i might get back into it tonight. i love customizing the character and havign extra saber choices. but i do agree its not much new than jk2 but still it is newer graphics wise and options wise. but th emodels still look the same. i have no quarry with it being released as a new game and i love it lots. much better than halo, my gf4 mx 440 on an amd athlon xp 2200 runs halo at about 25 to 30 fps on single player but gets about 40fps in multiplayer :/

Try using 1.1/1.4 shaders - its the only way I could get reasonable speed (even using 800x600).
