Hello all,

Had some time to play with dbp once again, but unfortunately there appears to be a problem with objects which have png "alpha channeled" textures. So, the issue simply is in the prtscr attachment, but as you can see, the trees for example have blurry edges (leaf parts). Any idea how to make those sharp as they should be?

Only place where this alpha thing seem to work correctly are two layers of fog, but everything beneath fog seem to have this ugly blurred textures.

Sorry about my bad english, hopefully you get what i mean.

It's hard to see what you're talking about in that picture, but typically for tree leaves you would use,

Set Object Transparency OBJ, 6

i have the same problem..
this solutions works for me:
- change to dds texture work
- upgrade to last version of dbpro, work but you know new bugs. (always bugs and bugs and bugs)
- Update graphics card drives
- set zscale object to 1
- show hidden polygons
and
- finally and the most working solution(always controversial).. change to unity or shiva or tgk (new problems but have less bugs.)

to "show hidden polygons" will probably hit straight to the performance but i'm going to give a hit.

I only wish i had more time to get known with dbp to avoid bugs and even more i wish TGC had more time to repair them.

EDIT: Are you sure there is such command as "show hidden polygons"? couldn't find it.

Don't have much experience with trees, but you might try some combination of:

set object transparency Obj, 2
disable object zwrite Obj (or disable object zread Obj)
set alpha mapping on Obj, Alpha (or off)

I use a combination of these commands for some .png smoke puffs that have an alpha channel...

Look at this thread:

problems with alpha mapping and trees

This issue seems to crop up about one a month. Does anyone use the search button?
