I haven't been around for some time now, but I'm back, and I thought I'd give away some sounds. (Audio and horror are my things.) The best way to describe these sounds is in a scary movie, when something startling happens, and a "jump" sound plays. I've given away sounds like these before, but you can never have too much horror IMO. I've labeled the sounds by the feeling they're intended to give the player, but of course you can use them however/whenever you like in your games. They're attached to this post in a zip file. Also, if you download the sounds, it would be awesome if you posted what you think of them, but it's fine if you don't.

These are free for commercial and non-commercial use. No credit necessary.

EDIT: Feel free to trim, amplify and reduce the sounds also.

these are great, thank you.

I hate to ask this but is the sound "ohdearscare.wav" really yours ? i'm asking this because i have a fpsc sound (i don't know where i downloaded it) in my audiobank folder called "ConfinedVengeance" (i don't know who the author is) and your sound begins and sounds just like ConfinedVengeance.

my question is: "is this sound yours ? if not, do you have permission from the author to use his sound"

I had to chuckle to myself when reading that, because Confined Vengeance is actually mine. I made it for Wheatley and Poloflece's horror pack, so you must've downloaded it. If you look in the credits for the pack you will find me, and you can even ask Poloflece, as he's the one i emailed the tracks to. I believe you're referring to the sound at the beginning of ConfinedVengeance. It is, indeed, the "OhDearScare". However, in ConfinedVengeance, it quickly fades in, but the sound provided in it's form here has the initial 'boom'. I hope this clears things up for you.
