I'm making an RTS game and all I have so far is a flat map

Can anyone help me make a unit to put on the map and help me move the character with the mouse?

Thanks a bunch!

If you're just starting out with Darkbasic Pro you should be doing the tutorials rather than trying to make a complicated game right away. All you'll do is frustrate yourself... always start small when learning a new programming language.

Try looking at TDK's tutorials first:

Set yourself small goals, and achieve them day by day! That's how I code with DBpro. I'm yet to stick units on my 2D map, but I've got panning and smooth scrolling working, which tie in with Timer Based Movement. Now I'm focusing on the zooming in and out. I've decided to ditch map rotation for now, opting for a fixed camera angle.

But yeah, if you make lots of REM comments in your code, make some reminder REM's of what you'd like to work on next!!!

Also, if you're really stuck on something, at least post a snippet of the code that you're struggling with. That way, others can see what you're doing, help you, and sometimes even learn something themselves!
