About half of DBPro programs can run fine after getting windows 7 SP1 (LTypeDemo,Dark AI examples, ect...), but the other half, when I run those programs (FireEffects, Dark Clouds examples, ect...) they don't work. With the error. "The parameter is incorrect"

[edit] And I do have U7.7 RC6 for the fix, so I am talking about the old applications that were compiled with earlier versions.

Has anyone experienced these problems? This really bad move what Micro$oft did with the new "security" feature...

There are a few TGC Enhancement Packs that haven't been upgraded to Win7 yet. See if they work in WinXP compatability mode. If they do, then that's why. The Enhancement Packs themselves have to be upgraded.

Also, there is a known issue where Avast Antivirus prevents most software from running if it's compiled with Darkbasic Pro. It doesn't register as a virus or anything. The DBP program just crashes to the desktop. So, if you have Avast Antivirus installed, you may want to consider using a different antivirus software instead.

I haven't had any issues on Win7 yet, but I've mostly only tested DarkAI and DarkPhysics examples.

Yeah, the compatibility mode does not work. From what I used, most plugins work fine with windows 7. (Execpt Extends Xgui) I think it's the new "security feature" with Win7 SP1 that keeps the programs from running.

Dark Clouds still works if I recompile from the old program. but I would like to fix the old applications that I don't have the source code for to recompile.

I have problems with Norton before, all it does it eats up the exe until I exclude it from scan. Since TGC is growing, I wish the Antivirus programs would learn that DBPro is a awesome program.

Hi,

Just to say I've just hit this problem too. It's not the anti-virus as I've already had to uninstall Avast and Avira works fine. Compiled last night, installed SP1 this afternoon, couldn't compile this evening. I know who I'm blaming. Anyhow if I figure out a solution I'll post it here and I'll keep my eye on this thread in case anyone else comes up with anything.

Also I'm interested by what you say about plugins. After I found my current project wasn't working, I tried a simply hello world program:

but this too returned the same error so I'm not sure it's a pugins issue.

Btw what is it that makes you say it's the security feature? Surely running in admin mode should get around this if it were that but that doesn't work for me either..

Lucas Tiridath,

U7.7 RC6 has the fix for that problem. So when you compile a project, it should work.

What about your other applications that are compiled before SP1? Do they work for you?

Hi again. Ty for the tip, that seems to have solved the problem for my projects. As for other projects, I can't run them until I've recompiled them under U7.7.

Is there any way to correct this for older compiled programs?

I have a couple of things I've compiled into exe files that I no longer have the source code for. Am I able somehow to "fix" these programs too?
I do hope so

Yeah that is why I started this thread. I hope TGC would be able to have some sort of program to fix the old applications.

ERk, I can confirm this "The parameter is incorrect" problem after upgrading to Windows 7 Service pack 1.

Currently, I'm running DBpro 1.075 with Synergy Editor June 2010.

I'm not too keen to run the beta 1.077 version just yet, but it looks like I don't have much of a choice.
