I have been trying to get the GUI-X9 menu system working for some time now. I am using Windows 7 32 bit. I have tried running it in different compatibility modes, admin mode, etc. I even thought it may be an internal sub-app within FPSC but I didn't see any integration. I have searched the forums extensively and have not seen anything available on this subject. I have attached the error dialog I am getting. This looks like an excellent application and I would like to use it. Is anyone else having this issue or is this application just not functional yet?

It's hard to believe I am the only one having this issue or maybe no one actually uses this application.

I have toyed with this application but as yet have not saved a menu I have made with it. I am yet to experience a crash of any sort from it. At what point is the application giving you the error?

Hmm, that screenshot doesn't give me any information about what's causing the error so at a guess I would say you don't have .Net Framework 2 installed.

Install it from here and then try running GUI-X9 again:

Yes I agree...the error display screen is worthless.

I am a .NET programmer so I have just about every version of the framework on my machine. See attached pic.

Hmm, so it's still not working... I'm not sure what could be causing it. It could be a conflicting DLL as you program .NET yourself?

I'll have a think and get back to you.

I doubt it since all the frameworks are in separate directories and we all have basically the same thing but....Microsoft has always kept us on our toes with their DLL updates, versions and bs.

Thanks for the help.

This program doesn't seem to be saving any of the work I made. Any thoughts?

How are you using the program?
The process is you build your game with FPSC and then you open GUI-X9, make your menus and apply them to the built game.
Doing the menus beforehand won't work.

There's an application? I though GUI-x9 was just a list of commands within FPSC.

I've tried to open the .exe within the FPSC directory, but nothing happens. No error message. Nothing.

I'm running XP, with FPSC v118 final. I've got build games saved too.

Make sure you've got .Net Framework 2.0 installed:

Cheers knxrb,

I installed it and for some reason it removed mscvr100.dll and prevented me from running the FPSC-GAME.exe

Didn't take long to download the *.DLL and i was back in the game

the .Net Framework solved the GUI problem too - it all works good now. It's a great little tool for FPSC.

What is the status of the options menu? has anyone even been able to script one yet?
