Hi everyone,

If like me you've enjoyed playing Call of Duty zombies mode or wanted to make a similar game in FPSC this might come in useful.

I've retextured the slow zombie character from Zombie Apocalypse model pack in the style of a nazi zombie so anyone that has purchased the pack can use it.

The retexture includes parts of the wehrmacht_5_D2 WW2 texture from TGC. Permissions have been obtained.

Attached a render from Dark Shader.

Thanks sic1ne

@ThoughtWire Software

I haven't tested the Zombie Apocalypse pack in X10 yet. I'm sure the characters can be imported but the AI will probably need to be tweaked. I'll give it a try.

...nice job applying the texture, Nomad Soul.

Overall, this looks great.

The economized limb textures do seem bizarre with the repeating swastika.

Any chance you could simply omit the swastika?

@Seth Black

I was thinking about removing the leg one. You think I should remove all of them?

...if you're able to remove the individual swastikas, omit all but the one on the
left arm.

I assumed that the UV map was economizing...

If you generate a texture without the swastika entirely, it'll make this retexture
more versatile for folks.

@General Jackson

LOL It would be cool if they had some mad running anims. Might be worth rigging to a fast zombie biped for a laugh.

@Seth Black

Sure. I'll remove all but one of them on the left arm and include a variation that doesn't have any swastikas.

Edit - Just realised that means I need to redo the normal and specular maps! Shouldn't take long.

I remember doing one of these awhile back.
I only used the swastika on the left arm too, but I had a torn up uniform as if he had already been struggle with a previous victim.

As you can see from my screenshot (see attached), I used a stock texture for my modification of the zombie too.

Yours is much better.
Well done.

Thanks Conjured, it was fun doing a retexture and I like yours.

I've removed all but one swastika on the left arm now and included a variation set of textures with no swastika for a more generic look. Both have normal and specular maps. Pic attached

The retexture is designed for use with stock shader skinning_norm_spec.fx but I also have an illumination texture which makes the eyes glow if used with the new planar shadow shader (Viral Outbreak pack). If anyone wants that I'll upload it here (without the shader of course!). Download in next post.

is it just me or is the uniform a bit tight.
On the arms the sleeves could do with some cuffs.

It's just you.

Quote: " the sleeves could do with some cuffs"

You mean reworking the mesh.?
I like it the way it is.

I have an original Luftwaffe uniform and it had huge cuffs like Seth's picture of ze Führer (it has the armband with it)
In this image The Führer is dressed a bit more casual...

I wonder if a retexture of the Thug could be made to look like Der Führer ??

I think I'll use this image of him below as a reference.
This is back when I knew him, when he was out of work looking for a job.
Yeah, he is flipping me a bird and trying to ignore me, because I was making fun of his shorts he was wearing at the time.

just kidding

But seriously, I like the painting on the wall in this image
Attached is my colorized version for an fpsc painting...

@ThoughtWire Software - Glad to hear it works in X10 for you!

@Mickeyb - I don't have any plans to change the zombie mesh as I don't have permission to release that.

@Conjured Entertainment - I think a retextured thug could be made to look like Der Führer. FPSC Wolfenstein 3D!

@Kill Shadow - Cheers! Your welcome, hope you get some use from it.

@Seth Black - Thanks. Your input is really appreciated and made the final result better.

Yeah, I ran a little test on the stock ww2 characters, and the Thug seemed to be the one who would be the easiest to make into Adolph.

Thanks for the comments everyone and like the adolf retextures. They look cool.

I noticed a number of people asking about a crawler version so I've retextured the zombie crawler and will be adding this to the download shortly. Pic attached

@ThoughtWire Software - I might try a retexture for the fast zombies next. Thanks for the suggestion.

@Seth Black - No problem.

I've attached the illumination map for use with bond1's dynamic shadow shader. It makes the eyes glow as seen in my previous post.

To use this you will need to change the zombie .fpe shader effect to 'character_planarshadow_template.fx' and add the texture to the entity folder.

Of course, I have to buy the Zombie Pack first.

Actually, I still haven't bought virile pack, metro theatre and mp53. I really want those as well.

...I totally understand the female dynamic involved.

No 911 rush, but they're must-haves because of the cutting edge they include.

I'm sure your boss will authorize purchases, if you catch her in a good mood.

Works for me, and I haven't been fired yet.
