Congratulations to the winners, your shiny badges have been set.
I'd like to say that I think I kind of dropped the ball on this compo, most of the entries seemed to misinterpret my description for the compo.. "Make something small.. and add something to the scene to give a sense of scale." I meant that you make a item that is small and add a normal sized item to give us a sense of scale. (thus exaggerating how
small your compo entry was.)
Anyways, it was tough to judge this month for me because 'technically' most of the entries did not fit the compo theme. many entries made something 'Big' and added 'HUGE' items to show scale. And others had no added item in the scene.
If I might be so bold as to take Josh Mooney's entry as an example. Josh asked that his 'Unicorn' entry be used instead of his mini-bot vs mouse battle scene. I overruled that request. the unicorn pic was nicely set up to look like a photo, but the blue sphere had no identifiable scale. it could have been tiny and up close to the camera or far off in the distance and HUGE. His mini-bot battle scene gave a great sense of scale and in my humble opinion better fit the compo theme.
Note: submitting multiple entries is ok, we'll sift through them and select the best one to fit the compo.
Sorry if my compo description was a bit unclear. Next month should be easier to interpret.. SPORTS!!
Cheers, and gratz again to the winners.
