I don't think I have the money for postage, so downloadable is probably my only option. Can this be done?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I ordered it on my old account ages ago, I got the disk in the mail free, as in the postage was included in the overall price. That was like 5 years ago, so I'm not sure. You do get a digital download copy.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

They charged me postage. It was like $3.31 or something. It almost pushed me past my limit, but not quite. (I already had to pay $6.95 to activate the gift card to order the game). Hence the budget was a bit tight.

Hopefully the payment gets processed. Not sure why they want to deal with that anyway. There should be a no postage option with direct download to avoid those costs.

I think they provide a downloadable option while you wait for the hard copy.

That's good. I provided a feedback on the survey saying they should not charge for postage if the customer only wants dl option.

It still says awaiting payment. I'm not sure why... its late here. Perhaps it will have processed by tomorrow.

Paying money to activate a card? what is this

Physical copy is usually safer as if your account gets hacked and you move to a new computer, atleast you can still develop

As a consumer, I would prefer the option of purchasing a hard copy or not. If I lived in a VAT country, shipping would have been a dealbreaker because by then it would have cost too much. No shipping reduces cost which in borderline cases like mine, could mean the loss of a sale.

I'm not sure why I couldn't migrate the account in any event. My steam account migrated from my old computer to my upgraded one. I downloaded UDK without any problems.

Finally, yes the gift card expenses are absurd. However, I do not presently have a bank account or traditional credit card. This means I must use gift cards (even if I ultimately transfer the funds to a paypal account). Gift card prices have been $3.95 for a $25 card. This purchase required $29.99 plus shipping. I did not have $50 ($54), so I could not purchase a prepaid $50 card, but they sell cards which allow you to determine the amount- you have to pay $6.95 for that. I ended up spending $41, giving me $35 on the card. With shipping, I ended up spending $33.81. Since I basically incurred $10 in costs, that reduces any money I could invest in media packs.

@MaskedMakrel

TGC do offer a download version, but it has limited number of models included so it may not be what you want. Basically download the free version of FPSC and updated it and buy the online key from the download store.

To be honest you are better off with the disk version, but that is only my opinion.

I should change the topic to can I buy the FPSC bonanza? I'm still waiting for the order to go through.

I cancelled the first order because I thought something must have not been right and re-ordered it.

I did a search on the forums and it seems to take 2 days- but it has been 2 days. Sigh... Just in case, I contacted the sales support to see if they would prefer a paypal order but I'm like number 29...
