Having a number of outdoor levels in planning, I've been trying to gather information on invisible walls. I've read a long list of threads on invisible walls and their creation... and I'm more confused than when I started.

1. Is an invisible wall a segment or an entity?

I have read both! But in my thinking, it would have to be a segment because in order for FPSC to read a level as "indoor," it would have to be completely enclosed (floor, walls, ceiling), yes?

2. How would I create an invisible wall?

One example said to create a "true black" entity in the FPSC entity editor... but a segment? Or maybe I'm more wrong than I thought...?

3. A true black segment or entity would manifest in-game as transparent?

I appreciate any thoughts on the subject... or guidance to where I can find the info.

Many thanks!

Well, here is a pretty basic method. Open up your ww2 segments, and find the ww2 bunker segment. Copy and paste it into a new segment folder. Nor remove the textured = line from the FPS file wherever there is one. It should be invisible.

Design Runner,

Just tried this, but after removing all the lines starting textured = from the fps file and trying it in a game, it's not invisible it's completely white!

I've noticed there are transparency settings throughout the fps file that are all set to 0 so I tried changing these to 1, but it's still all white.

Don't want to make further changes without advice as I don't know what I'm doing!

How do I change from white to transparent?

You're absolutely correct.

...just slap this texture on anything that you want to be invisible in FPSC:

OK Works fine. I combined all the above and did the following:

Quote: "Open up your ww2 segments, and find the ww2 bunker segment. Copy and paste it into a new "Invisible bunker" segment folder"

Then I downloaded Seth Blacks texture and put it in my texture bank.

Then I opened up the fps file from the "Invisible Bunker" folder, and every line starting "Texture" I changed the file location to the location of Seth Blacks texture.

My only question now. If I use this a lot, and make a mistake, it's not easy to remove as I can't see it in the FPSC editor. It's invisible to me as well as invisible to the entities. Is there a way round this?
