hi, I'm a newbye of fpsc and I have a question for us..

i'm trying to experiment with fpsc and i want to simulate the presence of water in a room.

to do this I used the metro theatre model pack..

1) I have creatd a room with the segment Lobby Alcove Hexfloor Border and when i placed the player_marker and loaded the room i feel nothing about footsteps..

2) After I used te entity Puddle to simultate the presence of water in the room and i edited the fpe file of the entity changing the materialindex voice from 5 to 6 (to simulate water footsteps) but after i loaded the game i feel nothing abut sounds too...

what am I doing wrong?

please help !!

thanks

loen

sorry for my bad english but I'm Italian

Just use the water that comes with the new version 1.18 Beta's.
Make sure you download beta 3 or above.

Well then unfortunately you will need to keep trying because the water in FPSC creates a plane across the whole level.

I think the problem is that you're using an entity (as a puddle), you can assign footstep sounds to segments but not (to my knowledge) an entity.

NickyDude: I think it's possible as I'm pretty sure I remember one of the Scaffolding entities produces a sound when walked on...

Nope, works fine on entities. I use them for some of my floors. Try walking on the stock WW2 wooden table; you'll hear footsteps
