Bombardment is a hide-n-seek game adapted from a text-based BASIC game by Creative Computing. But, instead of having only the hide-n-seek element, there will also be a turn-based feature in the game where the player can pick the enemy target to attack. Once picked, each player (human and CPU) will drop their tanks on the field and proceed to find each other's tanks. The one to find all their enemy's tanks first will win control of the area.

Features include Options where the player can change the number of tanks placed by each player: 5, 10, and 15. The game will also feature a way for the CPU to remember everywhere it has tried or this feature can be disabled.

Expected completion is to be announced. In the meantime, the central battle of this game is playable and presented here. Simply set the options to your liking, place your tanks, and start playing. At the present, there are no fancy animations as all work is being concentrated on a working project first. Animations and other fancy features will be added as a fine-tune adjustment. Also, the INSTRUCTIONS have not been added yet and are currently disabled.

pretty simple stuff but seems solid/bug free. it's similar in play to battleship™ (less on the strategy side though since tanks fill only 1 grid square) but it's not trying to be ground-breaking, either.

my only suggestion is to leave a destroyed tank on the field when the player is taken out (simply removing the tank is anit-climactic ).

i think it would be a good idea to follow up with a battleship™ game which would involve some AI for you to work out and release both as open source/tutorials for new programmers to start with thereby getting more mileage out of your work. otherwise, longevity in the game (as is) is short lived.

thanks for sharing
