I find LW to be the best one, I own it myself. It's very diferent from Max and Maya. It got tools to render sky textures (like the sky in my game TML) and to bake textures. With a free plugin you can export to .x to use with DB/DBP. It have all features you need for making games or movies.

LOL. There is no answer for your question. Just peoples opinions. I myself find LW to be my significant other.

out of those non... it would be a toss up between Max and Maya imo, but thats more of a personal prefference.

the best on the market is Sofimage|XSI - not that anyone here could really afford it, but the question shouldn't be which is the best ... it should be which would be the best for me?
which is an entirely different question.

and to be honest, there is no such thing - it's whatever you feel comfortable using ... i personally think Maya is the best, yet i know that SirManfred would say 3DSMax is, and Windtech would say Lightwave.

In the end its upto personal choice, luckily for you; you actually have a choice of which you can use. Some of us don't.

I think that everyone wants their own personal answer expecting all the pro's to know whats best for them right off the bat

well at the moment I'm saving up,
I can't afford any of these yet.
And the question is which is the best not which is the best for me.
Because I haven't got comfortable with any modeling program and would like to get comfortable with the BEST modeller.
Thanx all for your opinions.
