Hi all!

I saw a few threads on this subject but I wasn't really able to distinguish a good answer.
Basically, I've made a pretty nice Labyrinth in Cinema 4D and I find myself unable to get it imported nicely into DBPro. I'm no 3D whizz, but I'd be sad to see it go, so if anyone could give me some advice I'd really appreciate it!

Reading around, most people seems to be saying that C4D is not a great choice for working with DBPro, sadly it's the only modelling program I know how to use! haha
I can export it as a ".x" file, which DBPro opens successfully, but cannot texture and thinks it's all one limb. It comes out pure black and cannot have textures applied to it manually.
I've tried exporting as a ".3DS" but that just cause DBPro to crash.

Can anyone offer me any tips? I'm going mad with frustration!
Big thanks in advance!

Have you tried exporting as .3DS then converting to .X with DBConv?

Maybe it needs 3DS Max to re-build the .3DS file in a more compatible way. You could upload the textures and 3DS file, and I'll have a go at getting into DBPro - I have all manor of converters and 3DS Max.

If there are other export choices you could also try those, then open it in a different program and export it from there. I've had to do that recently with some models I edited in FragMotion because the FragMotion exporter for .X is crap. It exports to MilkShape just fine though, then you can export to .X.

Just a thought...

Here's an .X version. It seems to be missing a matcolo.tif texture, so there are some issues - but see if that is any closer to what your after.

I included the DBConv program I used to convert the .3DS, and some test code.

Oh great, the textures are actually working.
Thanks for the converter, that'll be really useful! Though it says it's missing a "d3drm.dll". Is it easy enough to find, or can I trouble you for a download?

Also, I'd advise getting the .x 'Xporter' for C4D, works a lot better than the built in one and has loads of options for things like auto-loading textures

Yeah, I wanted to use Xport, but it seems to be incompatible with anything beyond version 9 (I think).
Or is Xporter something else?
