Hello, all the time i've been using darkbasic i've been using windows firewall, which doesn't really inform you about anything. Recently I've been using comodo firewall, and i notice that darkbasic applications connect to the internet, even with no networking code in it. Could somebody explain why this is?

Thanks

I doubt they are actually connecting, the firewall just thinks they are or something.

The Editor would be connecting maybe to download ads, but any exe you make shouldn't be.

Yeah, this seems like the most likely explanation, although it does sounds a little odd to me.

It is definitely not the editor, my firewall explicitly states that Application.exe is attempting to connect to the internet.

It doesn't pose a problem to me, I allow it regardless, I was just wondering why it does this.

Thanks

Some software firewalls count the loading and initialising of the Winsock libraries as an attempt to connect to the internet.

In this instance, I'd guess that for some reason that the compiler is including the multiplayer DLL in your compiled program.

That makes sense, there's no multiplayer commands used, but that is the most concrete reason. Thanks for clearing that up.
