Anyone got any idea how to make a barrel fire? something like this:

Would be awesome for any post apocalyptic style game...

Taking a barrel and adding a normal fire to it just looks bad - 2d fire in a 3d barrel.
In x9 ofc.

Use particles, you can create some great fire effects.

good frame rates matter... and a low ping might help XD

You take the scifi stock barrel and and put the stock fire sprite in it.

Here is a fire particle I made, it's a bit smaller than what you appear to need so increase the scale.

[I've attached an image of the settings for the particle]

[Double Post]

Here is an in-game screenshot, it's not the best to show the effect(a video would have been better)

Use three of them to make a pyramid shape. Give each of the three slightly different settings to ensure variation.

just noticed.. for some reason, my particles split up and create two effects, while one is normally in the barrel, other part is sticking out through the side.
