To make an entity move around and follow a preset path (objects here not enemies) then first make sure
the object is dynamic, set the main fpi to 'follow', make sure physics is off and that immobile is set to no,
place it on the start marker of the waypoints you want it to follow and voila!
Useful for making vehicles appear like they are moving, eg train pulling into subway station

I've never been able to get things to follow waypoints unless I edit their .fpe files and set them as characters.

I followed the steps above but still had to edit the .fpe before it would follow waypoints.

Could I ask what entities you tested this with?

Hi

I had managed to get this working for my last game.

You have to make use the character FPI file and swap out the .X and texture file for what you need. Also make sure to rename it. Once done it should just work, but if the model is not facing the right direction you will need to change it off course.

If there is no animation then you don't have to worry, but if there is then you will have to work out how best to activite them.

You just need to add ischaracter = 1 to the .fpe... I was curious as to how A2 Tun got it to work as he doesn't list this step in his post.

@Thraxas

I think the way I did it was the lazy mans way, but I guess as long as it works.

It is good that threads like this are created it gives new users idea on how to create things.
