Would madeling level have any advatages over BSP levels other then easyer to import into darkbasic pro. and a better graphical look?

It would load faster, and you could use ghosting, shaders, animate it, lighting effects... There are tons of advantages, though you would have to do your own collision, which can be very tricky

So modeling would be much better and faster sounds good. Thank you. does dbp import Lightwaze 7 files? hmmmm.... ill look into this.

The only drawback about modelling a level is, if youve got a huge .x level, it will cause a lot of slowdown. The portal system planned for update 6 should remedy this, though. I think.

Still, if this portal is good and works as it should, a whole new level of db ...level.. building will come into play. And that will rock coz we can have huge, detaied maps and we can write our own cool level editors.

my level dosnt have to be in the .x format does it i was planning on exporting it from lightwave 3d in a .3ds format, will this be a problem?

jup, cuz .3ds isn't that good supported yet, but you can convert them with ease to .x
