I have noticed that everyone saves and loads their games with .txt files. I was wondering if it is possible to save and load my game with other formats such as .Sav or something. I was wondering because .txt files are to easy for someone to edit their saved game files. And if anyone knows of any websites or plug-ins that could help me with this I would apperiate it if you posted where, how, and what to do. Thank you very much.

If you make your own file type + encrypting method that only your program can read and uncrypt, that would be the best method.

any file format can be easy edited. if you do not what ppl editing your files easy ues command like WRITE FLOAT or WRITE LONG and not just uesing WRITE STRING. but if thay can figer out how the file is set out thay can edit it at will.

as the format names DB will save the file as any thing you put at the end ie. if the save a file "save.bmp" windows will think its a bit map the same go`s for .JPG .HTM .BAT .EXE and .DLL i just uess my own file pre-fixs .IOF

All the dot and three letters are is... a dot and three letters. '.sav' can have any contents, just as a '.txt' file can. What are you going to write into it?

Just as easy as .sav or anything else you care to use. If you wanted to you could save a .txt file as .sav and still open it in notepad.
