Hi,

I've followed the "Ultimate BSP Thread" guide to setting up the latest version of the Valve Hammer editor (V3.4 SDK) to work with DBpro. The problem is adding a light entity. What happens is that the Categories box just reads "(entities)" and the "objects" box is completely blank. I can put an entity in the map, but it's just a blank empty one.

I'm guessing that the fgd files holds all the light entity info but I did put it in the fgd folder. I also tried going back to the one already supplied.

Any solutions anyone?

Thanks

Er ... I got hold of V3.5 (beta) but there's still a problem with those entities. When I select the entity tool, nothing shows up - including the light entities - in the boxes on the lower right of the interface. Could I be doing anything wrong? I installed Hammer in the normal way ( e.g. I didn't change it's default setup options) and used the latest fgd.

sounds very odd... have you setup all the directories properly?
because i've noticed the more recent Hammer editor seems to be more bitchy than Worldcraft 3.3 (god knows why its still essentially the same)

it seems to sound like it isn't loading the .fgd though, which is just plain weird. Have you tried creating a blank entity and then using it properties?

Do you mean the directories for the compilation tools or am I supposed to instruct Hammer where to locate the fgd files.

I have heard that there is a problem with long file names ... could that also include long directory file names?

Perplexed!!!

the help file explains what to setup...

hammer is located here by default, if yours isn't then you'll have to look.

if you HL Directory is in C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\ then just download my GameCfg.wc

should solve the problem
