In FPS creator, simple maps wont lag at all, but when i take it outside or add lights or "eye candy" like details to make the map look better the frame rate just drops. Is there some kind of program that keeps it from doing this? (NOTE: its not my computer because its pretty new and is never slow.)

Watch what you add to the scene and keep everything static as much as possible. Dynamic entities are what eats up the FPS. A lot of the included entities are dynamic by default and don't need to be.

Characters and other dynamic entities use scripts that run constantly, check for conditions required to perform actions. Keep characters to a minimum and learn to spawn them whenever possible.
