Hi guys,

I have been fiddling with my setup.ini and I have shadows. But is there a way to make them crisper without a mod? Or will the shadows become crisper in the build game?

If you mean more defined shadows, you can set lightmapquality= in your setup.ini to a higher value: this will give you much more detailed shadows, but will also use much more memory during the lightmapping process. I usually use 50 or 70 as value.

Hope this help

Do you mean dynamic shadows? If so, I've found they are buggy anyway.

Stalker93 is correct about increasing lightmapquality=. Default is 5 and that is too low for most systems now-a-days. But be careful and don't be discouraged. You may have to adjust downward if your test level crashes.

Ok I already have it set at 50, but I will try 70 still.

Thanks!

If that doesn't work you could try baking it longer.

Or, you could try: lightmaptexsize=1024 instead of 512. Not sure if it would work and this again would increase the memory during the lightmapping proecess.
