1. Is it possible to make cut-scene in FPSC Engine?
2. If not, is it possible to add texts (subtitles) to movie cut-scenes?

Hello Tecbug,

Those questions above have been answered by Pain and Kravenwolf.

However, just to supplement them, if you do not yet know how to use your cutscenes in FPSC, please check the manual within the FPS Creator sub directory or subfolder named DOCS , item 5.4.5 on page 24 - STORY MARKER, if you have not still done.

Now about the subtitles of the your cutscene, you'll have to put them (subtitles) into a good video editor of your choice.

Also, you may to use the video editor to make your subtitles or another subtitle creator software as well.

That's it!

Have fun!

Northern, thanks for first constructive post here

However, I know how to play movies in FPSC. My question was about making cut scenes in FPSC engine (made via scripts and free camera without HUD).
I found this topic: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=183111&b=21 (Kravenwolf was more helpful there )
But if someone has another idea how to solve it, be my guest and write it.

Question about subtitles also wasn't question how to put subtitles inside a movie. Let me clarify my question:
"Is it possible in FPSC to play movie and external text (as subtitle)? So text file can be kept in separate file. This is important for translating the game. If yes, then how?"

Don't think there is any other way to solve it aside from what I already wrote about in that topic you found. If you want to make cutscenes in FPS Creator, then you'll need to set up your scene, script your events to play out one after the other, and then record the action using the player camera.

Why not just use Windows Movie Maker to add subtext to your finished cutscene once you have it recorded (not sure if it can do that or not)? Otherwise you would probably need to have the subtext display via script during the actual recording of your cutscene; which seems like a big frustration scychronizing the text with the dialog (unless you write a script to play the next subtext in the series with a key press, then you could control it to display whenever you wanted).

Hmm. It's interesting how popular cutscenes have become all of a sudden.

Because when you need to change this text (language change) you have to make new movie.

Maybe cut-scene designer will be added in new versions of FPSC or Mod.
Thanks for reply.

Hello Tecbug,

If I understood you correctly you only need to change your subtitles to another language and you do not want to redo your whole scene again. that's right?

If so, here it is my suggestion:

You can make your cutscene in the format shown in the figure attached, then you must make your subtitles in a subtitle editor. Now with the subtitle file you can edit your cutscene in a video editor. After editing your video it should look something like the figure attached.

Now let's imagine that you want to translate your subtitle from Portuguese to Spanish . To do that you will need to change only the subtitle file (translation) and edit your cutscene movie in the video editor, however you won't need make your all cutscene again.

However if you just want to change the subtitles but you do not want to edit your video again, ie. changing the subtitle in real time, in this case I do not know how to do that or even if that is possible in the FPSC. Sorry!

I hope this be helpful.

Regards.
