So here is my first ever game created by the wonderful Dark Basic Pro. This has been a learning curve for me and been great fun.
To keep things simple I tried to keep my game simple and I'm rather proud of the outcome.
I hope you like it as well, I welcome constructive feedback and please remember this is the first time I have ever made a game so be gentle

The Idea is simple!
Press the 'R' key as fast as you can to increase the speed and get a score.

Here's a screenshot:

Oh and massive thanks to Van B who helped me out on this one!x

well, it's near perfection for what's intended

only advice is, maybe, "pressed" state graphics for the buttons? (also, add the other control 'S' for start in the instruction above )

i must say the 11 mb filesize concerns me... i see no need for it. which led to the thought: maybe "leg it" is not "legit"? and, now i'm suspicious... care to dispel?

Good point on the "pressed states" that would look pretty awesome, and will be my next challenge!

Haha 'Leg It' is legit, honestly! I've no idea why its 11mb in size, when I complied it I had to save it as a EXE with Media, saving it as an EXE only didn't work if I then moved the EXE to say my desktop, away from the folder containing the graphics. I assume that's the norm?

I have just seen the 'compress media' option, I'll give that a go and see if it shrinks the file size

I recommend joystick usage so I can use a turbo button! Nice job for the first, and I actually like the graphic style. Reminds me slightly of playing the Game Boy in the 90's.

rem allow user create game with one click
rem create graphics, sound, scripts, models, with one click
rem slap user in face if game choice is mmo

Thanks Drillfoot!
I liking the graphic style as well, it's made me want to do more of the same so I am working on a "LCD" version of zombies like from Call of Duty, nice learning curve and should look pretty cool.

Pretty cool, haha i like the advert image for it

I see ya adapted the run button, guess only thing left for ya to do is get the start button to work or have it so when you click the run button it does the same effect as pressing R

Got up to 60ish speed, total time 11 seconds

Seems nice game, but it lags awfully on my PC and uses 100% CPU always. Windows wants to almost hang.

AMD Duron 1.6GHz, 896MB RAM, 256MB gfx.

What PC you have? You really should optimize it. The boxes in far away should be culled if user is too away from them, your camera range is set to highest possible i guess?

cool game, zerosimms. It's very simple, but all the old fashioned 8-bit stuff is very neat. It really has a unique feel to it for a DBpro game. Keep it up!

There was a very old game where you had to get away from a T-Rex, this reminds me of it. Maybe add a T-Rex, and direction changes.
