Not in the unmodded 1.18, but I believe if you do some edits to the script it may work with Hockeykids Apex mod. But I may be wrong.

Achievement in multiplayer would be great

I am running on W7 64bit and am not having any issues so far. I initially was the one who responded to Heywood4lyfe and tried to duplicate the issue but couldn't.

Is the latest DirectX 9 installed? I believe that even if you got X10 or X11 you could need to install X9. Dont know if that may help.

Is anyone else having problems with the applications?

Could everyone encountering this error please post their system specs, including the resolution of your screen and what DirectX version you are running.

Not all of the cool features are compatible with 1.17, but the models etc should work.

I helped NE out in another thread thread he started having to do with his issue. I'll post here what I did in that thread in case others are having the same problem with "image not found" messages.

The following two images shows where the files and folders should be. Are these the same as where you have them?

In image #1, "path.txt" is shown in the FPSC root directory. It cannot be in the Files directory or the Files/TSTcreator directory! If it is in that directory move it to the root directory of FPSC.

Having the path.txt in the wrong folder is the main reason that will cause an image not found message.

A .pdf document showing most of the content included in the model pack can now be found at the product page.
Its quite basic, but it describes the more important entities and weapons.

I tried the models in x10, and I would say that they are not completely compatible without any modifications.
Scripts like achievements will guaranteely not work due X9 and X10 not having the same fpi commands.

Changing a few things in the entities .fpe, like setting the main script to default.fpi and maybe even turn of the shader for the entity would probably make it useable (will try)

The weapons should work, they may need some tweaks to the gunspec and/or pickup scripts. But should work as well.

Remember that using model pack 54 in X10 is not for the unexperienced user.

I'm not sure if any of this matters but let me ask these questions:

1. In your setup.ini file: what is your "dynamiclighting," "postprocessing," and "newblossershaders set at"?

2. In your preferences what are your "lighting shadows," "Visuals," and "texture quality" set at?"

Thanks for the message and I'm sorry about my delay in replying. I have tried it again today and I am still having the same invisibility problem. In my preference visuals are no shader effects, texture quality medium, lighting shadows best for performance.
In Setup: dynamiclighting=1, postprocessing=1, newblossershaders=1.

It's strange that it's just the "find" photo and yet all the other models I have tested so far seem fine!! Anyway, thanks for the help!!

Sorry for late response.

Could you try copying one of the other photo folders from gamecore/guns, then copy only the textures from the "find" photo and place them in the new folder?

Hi

Could someone please explain what Flatlander's images were? I have placed the path.txt everywhere but with no success. Both Firefox and Opera do not show the images, so I assume they were removed or my browsers are acting up. My FPSC Creator is on G:\The Game Creators\etc. and not in C:\Program Files. Edit: Installed it on C:\Program Files\Game Creator, etc - same result.

I look forward to using this as soon as I can get it to work as I spent a whole day trying to achieve exactly this! Unsuccessfully, of course.

Another thing:Textures created show in the folder when accessed from TSTApp but not when I try to find them in Windows Explorer or FPSC to add texture to an object. Weird.

Thanks

I believe Flatlander took down the images.

What is the result you are achieveing? Are you trying to open the TST app or any of the applications?

Could you be a bit more specific? Are you using the texturemerger?

Cheers!

Hi Cyborg Art

Thanks for the speedy reply - I have prepared the screenshots for you, but I am having difficulty in attaching the screenshots. I'll email them to you, if that's OK. Once you've looked at them, we can continue the conversation here so that others can be assisted who might experience similar phenomena.

Thanks

I bought this pack immediately after figuring out the ins/outs of the FPSC Free and ordering the full FPSC. It is excellent.
It is clear the time and effort that went into it- money well spent.

A couple of questions:
The merge/achievement etc tools are really important aspects, and they are really confusing. The pdf is well done and everything 'almost' clicks, but still a really basic step by step tutorial- even here in this thread, sure would be helpful.

Also, you ask for the user to agree to the license. I assume that the intention is that someone does not redistribute your tools and images for use as a segment/entity/image/model collection/scripts, etc. but, certain what we use and create can go right into a commercial game, since that is the idea in purchasing a model pack of tools to create the game with. Correct?

Basically, I would like to make use of the logic of the puzzle foundations, and customize the text in book images for hints or puzzle combinations, and maybe paint original posters for hints.

I had to relocate all items for the apps to make them work, and have succeeded at doing so now. But, I still can't wrap my head around placing new content(text etc) in an image and having it appear as its own new entity for use in game. And, the screen pop-ups that say 'achievement'- I am sure the text can be edited on these to match the logic of a new game, but not sure where/how to do this? Like get gree puzzle piece "achievement only 3 more etc".

Thanks for such an awesome product.

I will see if I can make some videos showing how to use them.
Are there any specific area that are more unclear than another?

Thats for the duplicator-app. I wanted to make it clear for the user that the application just duplicates an allready existing non-shooter weapon, and that the original license for the model pack applies.

Of course you can use it in your commercial game, it would make no sense to not allow it

Quote: "Basically, I would like to make use of the logic of the puzzle foundations, and customize the text in book images for hints or puzzle combinations, and maybe paint original posters for hints."

I dont know if its a question, statement or if it goes with the previous question But thats almost the point behind the pack, that the users can edit the assets to suit their game.

Quote: "I had to relocate all items for the apps to make them work, and have succeeded at doing so now."

What did you need to relocate?

Quote: " But, I still can't wrap my head around placing new content(text etc) in an image and having it appear as its own new entity for use in game."

If you are talking about an entity like a poster, then you would need to retexture it in a image manipulation software like photoshop or GIMP

Quote: " And, the screen pop-ups that say 'achievement'- I am sure the text can be edited on these to match the logic of a new game, but not sure where/how to do this? Like get gree puzzle piece "achievement only 3 more etc"."

You should be able to do it via the achievementcreator, or editing allready existing huds with photoshop or GIMP.
They are gathered in gamecore/TheScaryThinker/Achievement

I hope it helped you a bit.

Hi there,

Thank you for answering these questions.
As far as having to relocate things...
Well, to begin with there wasn't an instruction on where to place the App creator/files to begin with. Then I saw the txt file with location included, so I was able to guess where the separate function creators were looking. Example; non-weapon creator would open, give it commands, then when going to render 'could'nt locate' followed by something like "c:\the game creator\files..." So, I would try placing items where it was looking until it would render a successful one.
I understand the final result/goal, and I understand mostly, how the apps get you there, but somewhat muddy with the in between since I am new to the scripting language, assets management, etc., but map making is very familiar/CAD etc.
So, even though a lot of it is/would be redundant, a true step-by-step for everything from where to install, to where everything is located, what it does, why it is used, and how it will go into FPSC, where it appears, how to use it, any accompanying commands. For me, it will probably take a couple of days to implement/learn these things correctly just based upon #54, but for you an instruction list of that nature would probably take about an hour

Also, this may be completely unrelated, but when I first installed FPSC, I tested it out with prefabs just to make sure all is well. Tested lighting placement, etc., rendering low, med, high.
Then, upgraded to .18 v 14 no trouble. At some point in installing packs, including yours, and I don't know when, some of the rooms do not produce light at all. Some items are perfectly fine, others will not produce light even if ambient light is placed in them, others will only show light on the door and ceiling, and most other textures, including those included in your pack, work perfectly fine. I have tried editing the proper items in setup.ini only after this issue, based on what others have said they affect, and I have even uninstalled everything and re-installed everything, and still some rooms, standard FPSC ones, and prefabs, just won't show light. From the outside, they may show invisible or the black exterior of the building. Very strange.
Just wasn't sure if it is at all possible to be connected to something in the scripting from this pack?

Thanks so much again- You seem very helpful and that is just yet another level of your professionalism. Such a great collection!

As a follow-up- I had some time to put the logic together and make sense of the editors. very happy to say I'm able to make custom books and corresponding weapon hud/pages. Thanks!

@ Cyborg

I am having the same issue as the user back in April. I am trying to create an achievement. I get all the way to the end and it says "Runtime Error 500 - unknown image error at line 108"

I have even tried using one of your images just to test and it still fails.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I've been looking through this thread for a comprehensive explination of how to overcome the "Runtime Error 500 - unknown image error at line 108" problem, which I am suffering from right now, but have not found the complete answer yet. It seems like I am not the only one who has this problem. This is a great pack, no doubt, but it would be better if people like me could create thier own acheivments. I am running on Vista, and everything is updated fpsc included, and the path file is in the right place too. Can anyone help? Thanks

What line 108 says:

This creates the achievement image.

Are you using non-english letters? Do you use space, dot, comma or any other symbol that would cause an error?

Do you have "TheScaryThinker\Achievements" in your gamecore folder? If not, create such a structure.

Tell me if it helps.
