[Resolved] I was able to install 118 beta 10 just fine.

By the way, This is a beast for a laptop under $500 bucks. The Athlon Series are great all around AMD CPU(s).

Okay, I have spent all day on this and it is extremely dissapointing.
Due to personal issues I am having to move everything to a laptop, which I figured would give me the bare minimal to run FPSC, but to no avail.
I can install the base FPSC, it launches fine, but after I install the 117 update, crash.

GPU: ATI HD 4250

I sent a messege through the contact form on the TGC site this morning and haven't heard back.
Could someone take a few moments to point me to what to ckeck?
The "user details" file appears to be fine, I am not sure what else to check.

Just a couple things off the top of my head...

1. Did you run the update as Administrator?

2. Which version of 117 did you run? IIRC, there was the first release (1.17.09) and the second was v1.17.11.

I can run FPSC v1.17.09 on my laptop, single core, Vista 32 bit, 1 GB RAM with the Radeon Xpress Series video. Unless your issue has to do with the famous Dark Basic/Windows security issue that happened awhile back.

The function of good software is to make the complex appear to be simple.

Run as administrator? - No I hadn't, went ahead and tried after reading your post, still nothing.

Version - from the files page of FPSC

Version config file shows "1.17.011"

I will search for 1.17.o9 as you mentioned.

UAC is always off, I hate it.

Un-installed, restarted, cleaned registry getting ready to re-install everything again, as administrator.

okay, re-installed everything, still the same problem. It has to be an issue with this laptop. I have never had any problems installing on my desktop

I had this problem too but with my desktop. (Nice onboard GPU BTW; I have one in my HP G6 series).
My best advice is to install the latest beta release over it. That fixed it for me so it might fix it for you too.

Went ahead and installed 1.18 beta 10...
Appears to be working now, I was reluctent to install 1.18 because I wanted to wait until it was out of beta.. oh well it is installed.

I am happy now, now only if I can un-install my personal issues!
sigh, I wish I really was a PC.

Thanks for trying to help everyone, at least now I can get back to working on FPSC OneSource.
