I don't see why. For a sphere you select 'add sphere', and for a cube you select 'add cube'. They're both just basic primitives. If you've already stepped into modeling, that's great. The next step is to spend a few weeks watching and repeating what you learn from the
thousands of FREE video tutorials available on Youtube, regardless of what modeling program you're using. Otherwise, you'll very soon learn that you're not going to far in this field without any ability to model, and no money to have someone else do it for you.

Not really. If he's using Blender; the cube is already there for him when he opens it up

He doesn't really even need to scale it in Blender if he doesn't know how because he can do that in the .fpe file.
