Wow a triple post. But seriously, a clone isn't actually a "carbon copy" of it's "brother/sister" (internal voice: using too many speach marks!) it also shares a lot of genes with it's surrogate mother.

Why would it share a lot of genes with its surrogate mother? I thought the cloning process involved removing the genetic material from an egg cell and then implanting another cells complete DNA?

Environment is also a strong factor in how a cat appears, though i dont know whither it would effect the fur pattern.

A clone will be genetically identical to whatever you where cloning otherwise it would not be a clone.

A clone has the same DNA, but the whole fur pattern is not stored in the DNA to begin with; hence the different fur patterns, Helix.

Hmm things get complicated here. But I don't think that the speed of light has been proven yet. Ok they have a speed...whatever it is because I didn't bother to remember it, but that doesn't proove that light didn't travel back/forward in time. If light travelled 3 times faster than the registered number it would still register the same number because it would have travelled back in time, and then forward again. Lol! I like to really scrutinise science before I believe in something.

Anyhow just to give my opinion I think that light does travel back/forwards in time due to some other evidence that I have seen. So I think that the speed is most likely wrong.

Why...well because the energy required for all the light in the universe might not be as efficient as having the same photon in several places at once. That is not proven though, that is my own theory as an example.

Although there is some proof to back me up.

I think that 1 photon could be everywhere at once, but that is a big step to take, and I prefer the small step approach. Maybe 3 places at once or something nice and easy to get to grips with.

Recent discoveries have shown that the speed of light is actually very very slowly accelerating.

Easily Confused-- that's a theory that's getting a lot of publicity, but there is as yet very little evidence to back it up. I think it's interesting, but I don't care enough either way to 'believe' it or not.

Contrary to popular oppinion, a clone as we can currently produce it is not identical to the original; I'm not sure why, but I think it's something to do with DNA not actually being a full list of instructions for making a being, you need a lot of input from the surrogate mother to complete the process, which is why you can't easily crossbreed between species.

This information from the mother is interesting. I often think that a kiss transfers DNA from 1 person to another. Have you ever noticed how couples who have been together for a long time start to look like each other. Or people with dogs start to look like their dogs. Could be the face licking!

....They might even let the dog's lick their faces too! LOL!

Every cell with a nucleus in the Human body contains the entire Genetic code to make a Human and as far as i know there is no mechanism for a surrogate mother to introduce more DNA even if it needed it.

Well they could make a virus that changed people into someone else, since a virus introduces the code to make more cells, it could be possible to make it indroduce the code to make it change into someone elses, but you it would also need to be able to reproduce itself or enough for every cell

That would take over 7 years to do, the immune system would take it well before then.

Plus there's the slight problem of an organism not rebuilding itself from the ground up because it's old dna has been changed.

It takes more than the entire genetic code to produce a creature, you need the right growth enviroment and correct conditions to do this. It also takes some details from it's technical mother during the phases from zygote to foetus. Otherwise you'd be able to grow a giraffe embryo inside a cow's womb.

Yes but the genetic code is completely intact and is the complete instruction set for the building of the being. Anyway through processes like cloning / IVF, I believe embryos are grown in test tubes first of all before implantation so technically it doesnt matter if its in its own specis womb for proper growth.

What techincal details are you talking about anyway?

If you are so sure what are these details that the mother supposedly gives to the zygote?
