So, I was wondering what it is for? why even say get image if all you are doing is paste an image? Not shure what this command is for.

my signature keeps being erased by a mod So this is my new signature.

After composing an image on a bitmap, you use GET image to...get the image.

example - create numbered balls - paste the ball image, write the text, get the image. 1 image file could create 100 numbered ball images.

It's also very useful for making bitmap fonts from a font sheet.

For the simple reason you might want to get it from one place and paste it somewhere else.

Most of our code examples use GET IMAGE because it's easier to run code that doesn't require any media for examples. Without GET IMAGE we'd be attaching media 100% of the time just to help people with 2D problems.

Just as BatVink mentioned it's mainly to give us the ability to manipulate images and grab the results to use in our programs.

This shows what Green Gandalf mentioned and to show you two ways to use GET IMAGE (to blur or not to blur).
