To celebrate that Model Pack 54 is topping the "Top 10 of This Week" I am hosting this minor competition:

To come up with a unique and usefull way to use the new "non-shooter weapons" (aka handheld collectible items) from Model Pack 54 or come up with a unique feature that never has been seen before in FPSC and then make a short video of it.
It doesn't matter if its for a horror game or an educational game.

A simple sample would be:
-One of the translationbooks retextured to help the player understand a foreign language.

This is not a competition about design, its a competition about thinking outside the box.

Grand Prize:
*Any Steam games and/or addons of your choice for a total value of €20 - $28 - £17

*A TGC voucher worth €14 - $20 - £12

Second prize:
*A TGC voucher worth €7 - $10 - £6

-You are now allowed to enter even if you dont own model pack 54 (but using the handheld collectible items may improve your score)
-You may use any of the non-shooter weapons from Mp54
-You may retexture the non-shooter weapons
-You may use several non-shooter weapons as long as they are used together
-You may use scripts, sounds, other model pack, screen effects and video post processing since its the idea itself that gets judged.
-You may use any tools you own in order to create your entry

-The feature should be somewhat working in FPSC (modded or unmodded or X10), or at least be able to work in a near future.

-Feel free to use any of the screenvideorecorders avaiable, WeGame is recommended

-The video should be submitted to YouTube and merged into a post on the forum before the submission date

-You may not break any laws or harm anyone with your submission

Judging is beeing based upon three things:
*Creativity - How creative is our entry? Is it unique?
*The idea - How well the idea is used in your video, and if its usefull for its game genre
*Use of handheld collectible items - How well the HCI is implemented into your feature, if you are using them in a new way.

Your video should be submitted in this thread with a short description by

15th of May 23.59 GMT

Registered competitors:

Feel free to ask if you have any questions. A sample video will be put up soon.

Notice that this is not a design competition where the best level or layout wins, its an "idea competition".

Disclaimer: This competition is not sponsored by either Steam or Thegamecreators

I have edited the first post:

The competition is now open for everyone!

Added to the goal of the competition is to think outside the box, come up with something unique for FPSC and try to get it working.

It doesnt have to look pretty.

The date of submission has been moved to 15th of may.

15th May, phew. Gives me time to buy mp54 over my birthday
Do the rippable posters count? I had a great idea featuring those.

Yes they do

But sadly I will have to take down the competition and rework it due to the lack of interest. In time for the next newsletter there should be an updated competition up and running.

im actually quite dissapointed this didnt run. i would have entered but i dont have/nor can afford mp54. maybe if you gave it more time when the sales were up there would be more interest. especially with them prizes. xD

Well, if there is an interest in the competition I will keep it running.
Is it something in the rules that I should change to get the competition more apealing?

I would suggest to wait until the other 2 competitions running are over and giving people some more time to get your pack
