I didn't know there was a beta 12! I'm stuck on beta 10. I think its best to get the newest update.

I'd have to say........ The Game Creators can make dreams come true.

I just bought FPSC and was wondering if I should upgrade to V118 Public Beta 12 or V117.
I can see whats new for V118 but not cumulative added features from v 1.0 , which is what I assume comes with a new purchase (odd how program doesnt say what version in the Help>About FPS Creator menu
as I am just learning - I do want something stable

Well if you want a stable verson stick to the official releases. It's called beta for a reason. It has bugs and errors that need to be tested and fixed.
(Side note:Beta 13 is out. For more information read the thread named V118 Public Beta 12.)
