This is quite a noob question, I have been working with fpsc for some time making little demo's. My mate has just brought fpsc and thought of making a game together..im working on inside levels of a spaceship while he is working on outside levels on an alien planet..when he has finished is there away to put his outside levels with my inside levels in the same game?.My levels are before his. Can i save his .fpm level and his assets into my folder to make all are levels into one game?..if so how else do i do it?..

Yes. It is not too dificult. there are two ways of doing things:

1.do as you said and put his map files in your folder.then in your build game settings you can choose which fpm files to use in what order and from where.

or...

2. you could save one of your files (prefersably indoor because it has less entities) as a prefab and attach it to another map so you could have a clean transition without there being a seperation of levels between them. who wants a level change and a loading screen every time you walk out a door- am i right?

I hope i helped you some. -Xilith117

If he doesn't have all of the media that his friend used in his level, there will be pieces of the level missing when he builds the game. This is his main problem unless they're just using stock/free assets around the forum. But assuming you and your friend all have the same media in your libraries that are being used in your levels, then all you should need to do is add him .fpm (level) file to your list of levels prior to building your game.

thanks both..its not indoor and outdoor its completely different parts of the game..his outdoor levels are happen later in the story on alien planet mine are in spacecraft before alien planet.so my levels are before his levels..just needed to check if my way would work..we both use custom segments and textures..so I will have to import all his entites, textures and ai files and stuff then build all levels as one game...

The easiest thing to do, if you both live withing range of eachother or you have a mean of massive file transfers, once you are prepared to "build game" , take his "file" folder and dump it into your fpsc install.

Just make sure when you are creating maps and entities that you are both using different names for everything so you don't over write anything when you do the merger.
