Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but GDK is just for C++ (oh and .NET in C#), not Visual Basic.

The .NET version works with Visual Basic according to the advertisement on the TGC web site. However, since the OP says "Visual Basic C++" two times, I think it's just sloppy wording. You probably meant Visual Studio C++ 2010? In that case, have a look at N3wton's libraries.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=176637&b=22

The latest official upgrade also contains libraries for Visual Studio 2010 but no installation instructions.

I don't know how well - if at all - these solutions work. If you want to go safe and stay with Visual Studio 2008, then go to the Microsoft download site:

http://www.microsoft.com/express/Downloads/

Then click on "Visual Studio 2008 Express" in the menu, then select Visual C++ 2008 Express.

Thanks everyone for all of the info. it helped very much. but is there a way to do GDK with C++ 2010? I got it to work in 2008 but since im guessing that 2010 is better i would like to try that. Thanks.

God help me, Please.

Have you clicked on the links I just gave you? The first is the answer to your question. N3wton gives several installation instructions for his libraries.

When I was downloading Direct X it said "The pre-released version of XAudio2 has expired; please upgrade to the latest version."
Any idea what that is about? Thanks.

God help me, Please.

It said that to me too during installation. Never mind, as long as it works.
