So last couple weeks I have been trying to get my models made in 3d studio max to export the material properties for use in DBP.
After early testing I assumed that only animation, uv coordinates and textures translated through.
Then I started learning that some features in dbp are off by default (like SET NORMALIZATION ON) that effect how some effects work.
I keep finding little things like that once turned on allow more features to work the way they are suppost to.
Bump mapping for example didn't work right for me until I set normalization on.
So do any of 3D studio max material settings(or any other 3d program) work when converted to .x (or .3ds) for use in DBP?
I would really hate to keep at this for another week or longer only to find out some simple silly command could have saved me the time to just illumination map, bump map, etc in my 3D program and export it directly.
Hopefully there are some 3D studio max users here that can answer this for me.
Don't get me wrong, I will learn to code it all out if needed for my project, though figure why make it more difficult if there is a easier way to get the desired effects via 3d proggy.
