Hey guys, TiTaniUm here.
Ive decided (for reasons i will release later) to move on from FPSC. Its been a fun ride, and I've learnt many different aspects over the years. One of those is texturing, and it has quite recently become more than a hobby. I like to think of myself to be able to do a good job of it, and that brings us here.
I do intend to leave this forum. (although I have already been rather inactive recently). I may, in future, return with a small project or a media release, but with the ever increasing pressure of school, family, and other issues put to me, it is not as likely as I would hope.
Sadly, and to my embarrassment, I have mostly been all take and no give. The next few weeks are my chance to change that.

~PROPOSAL~
-I will make you any texture you will need.
-There is no theme, they can be grunge, Medieval, or even science fiction. There are no limits here.
-Diffuse, Normal, and Illumination maps will be supplied to work with Bond1's shaders. I will not distribute the shaders.
-All work will be given to the community as an open download. Contact me personally for 'private work'
-If the requested item is a segment, there will be a floor piece and a wall piece, both shader ready for Bond1's NormalMapping shader. Again, this shader wont be distributed.

~RESTRICTIONS~
-The size of the texture will not exceed 2048
-If a model is being textured, a UV map and .obj of the model must be provided. The texture will be for personal references and will not be used by me for anything, but to view the texture) - MUST be your model
-Requests will be open from Monday 11th of April till Sunday the 17th of April
-All media will be released between the 25th of April and the 5th of May.

So while you are all pondering some requests, I will just leave you with a few examples of my work. Hope you all enjoy.

I will drop a few in-game screens later in the week if you guys would like to see some.
- The textures are a measly fifth of their actual size. (256 down from 2048)

Now please, make a request. Make two. Even make three.

Its my turn to give back.

- Ben

It's sad to see you go, I'm moving on from fpsc to darkbasic but I'll most likely still make models and other media for the community.

I could use a night vision overlay texture, but would I be able to use it on distributed menu and logo artwork (refer to my 2d media request thread).

Thankyou and farewell

Shame to see you go dude, but hopefully a return in the future! The break away could be positive as when you return hopefully the engine will be boasting even cooler features.

I would like to make (my very first request ever) whilst I am here for a/some realistic looking underground segments, whether it be MUD, or MUD walls with paved flooring, just something that looks quite realistic. With the shader/lighting effects in 1.18 we can improve on them even more in-game.

All the best!

It is a shame to see you leave TiTaniUm, however I wish you the best of luck for the future!

Could you make for me, a couple of science fiction segments? some which are clean, high tech, and can be used more than one layer high, and also the same but more grungy, dirty and worn but can also be stacked more than one layer high.

Thanks mate,
Nathan

can you make me a sci fi wall or room for an armory? that texture you have above in the 3rd slot with the yellow caution tape would b perfect for my armory! or a grungey old tiled floor! thanks your textures are amazing!

#1 a wall or room for an armory using the 3rd texture above or a texture simular

#2 broken tile floor or just a grungey old tiled floor

Man, sorry to see you go brother. But life does that sometimes.
I'd love it if you would consider contributing a little something to the new Modern Warfare Community pack. It would be great to add your name to the Community project one last time.

Give it some thought, but either way, Good luck to you in all your future endevours, stay frosty, and God bless.

That sucks that you have to move on from FPSC. Hopefully you continue pursuing game design though.

Anyways, would you be kind enough to make an extremely grungy metal
wall and floor texture for me? The only difference is I would
like it to be somewhat shiny. I have bond1's metro theater segment shaders and I would like to take advantage of the specular map shiny looks. Thanks! Reference attached. The walls and doors and pipes don't have anything to do with it.

Thanks for all the requests and farewell messages everyone. Ill get started on these in a few days, when Im back home.
Later on today I will update the first post with the requests made, and some form of progress monitor.

@Cosmic: Id love to contribute, but Im not sure what kind of stuff I have that could fit that theme. I do have a few 'generic' or old 'arabic' style things that may fit a warzone. Ill let you know, and search through everything I have/make a few more to contribute to your pack.

@Defiler: Please do, I would appreciate to help, but just as a heads up, Im doing everything in a much more 'official' way now.

Some of these I've already started on, others I am thinking up ideas. Another note; SciFi is not my strongest point, but I have been learning up on SciFi media creation lately, and I've been improving a bit, so Ill give it my best shot.

Im still happy for more requests, there are a few days left to get one in.

Ben

Not sure if you know how to create this, but a shiny black semi-transparent glass texture would be an amazing one as it seems impossible to find a good one.

Could you please make a re-texture of these stock scifi doors:

to look more like a split + sliding version of these doors (with artistic liberties, that is):

I really want cool, industrial style sliding doors with high texture quality (and shader ready as well), so I really hope you're up to it. I hope that as they're stock, I hope you'll make an exception to the whole "must be your model clause" Is this doable? Thank you sooo much if you will!

@sic1ne A long slender pipe entity with a shader and no collision, but that screenshot is about 2 years old, my new work is far better. Though this thread isn't about me.

Thanks everyone
Ill do these in the order posted, so I may not get to all of them, as I have just been given a work placement over the holidays.
I appreciate all of the farewells also

Ill post back here in a few hours/days with some progress on these textures. Keep in mind the download won't be available until late April - early May.

Okay, well, I decided I would finally kick it up and start doing something with all of this.
I just finished the NightVision overlay for Poloflece Games.
Ill give you all a look, but remember, this is not going to be released for at least another week.

Also, another thing, this is NOT an in-game HUD. I have no idea how to create HUD's I'm afraid, but I know it has something to do with an alpha channel, and a rough one is included. The screen IS an FPSC screen, but it is a screenshot with this overlay.. overlayed?

Time Spent: 10-15 minutes

@Poloflece If you could please get in contact with me about how you want this file (format, etc) and the licensing for it, I would make both our jobs a lot easier.

@Science Boy Sorry man, but the list had closed before you posted that. Ill make this ONE exception though. However, your post is too vague and poorly formatted, that I hardly know what you want! Just post back whenever you can in a properly formatted post without all of the 'mumbo-jumbo' so I can get a clear reading of what it is you are after.

You can expect another update in another couple of hours, or the next day or two.

yes, i can see it would be a bit vague i will be more specific.

ok well i love dungeons and dragons and i loved dungeon master ( the old classic game ) this was in hope you knew the feel of what i am aiming for, but i will be specific.

a very good grey catacombs/dungeon chunky brick segment. that would suite a dungeons and dragons game. if at all possible.

. dungeon stone/brick
. large stones, not all the same size or shapes
. grey and black and a bit of slime
. floor of similar colour but tiled of random shapes

if need a pic i will get one for you

cheers.
that was my main suggestion, sorry for the rest i was tired when i wrote it. and thank you.

Sorry Wraith, I should've gotten back to everyone about it.
Its fine, but if you could give me a few more details, and possibly some reference pictures as to what you're after, It would help alot.
Also, it sounded like you wanted the model to be changed. Unfortunately, my skills aren't up to that, But I'll do my best with a rextexture.

Sorry for the lack of updates on this everyone.

I thought I would take this opportunity to fill you in a little bit.
All of my media that I have ever created, looked nice as a texture. But in game, it never truly looked like the shaders were working. I recently did some investigating, and deleted all of my media, and now started again on making everything FPSC ready. This is proving to be a long and tedious process.

Because of this, I feel the segments are pushed to a new level of quality ( I will post some screens tommorow) that will allow me to release every segment I have made (that I own rights to)

So early to mid May, you will most probably see a pack from me on these forums. There will be individual packs inside, arranged in the theme the pack fits too. Currently I have 2 grunge packs, and 1 scifi pack, with an average of 20 unique shader ready segments inside of them. I am doing some finishing touches, and a few more totally new ones before the release.
There will be a small, free sample pack, but it will be lower quality than the purchased packs.
It is likely that prices will be somewhere around $3 AUD each, and there will be a special price to buy all of the packs. That price will depend on how many packs I have ready and finished.
Inside all of these packs will be most of the media you have requested here in this thread. I am also in the progress of doing many door variations, for higher res textures, and also rusted/aged ones also.

Later tomorrow I will post some screenshots, or possibly start up a new thread.
I know it hasn't been long.. In fact its as if I never left. But, I have justified my statement.
I will not be leaving this community, just no longer working with the FPS Creator engine.

I hope the news of the packs (or my 'return' ) doesn't upset anyone, and that you are all just as excited as I am to get these packs out to you guys.

Thanks for your contributions to this thread everyone, they have inspired me for new textures to add to this pack.

If there are any last minute ideas that I can use to put into a pack, I would greatly appreciate it. The prices will be fixed from now, and Im sure anyone would appreciate more for less.

Also, just an apology for this poorly formatted post, its currently 3:36am, and I'm feeling a little more than tired.

Ben

@ TiTaniUm: did the ps 3.0 fpm or whatever i sent you not help you get them looking good? Also i would use a compressed .png cause those never give me any errors.

@TiTaniUm: I don't need the model changed at all, just a change from a scifi texture to an industrial one. I can have some samples of what I mean in a few days

@TiTaniUm

Thanks, looks great

I would be using it for some of my own menu art, which would be distributed (refer to my menu request page), so the format I would like to have it in is .png

Thanks again

@Defiler: No actually, It was of some help back then, but since had slipped my mind. Another friend of mine on these forums who I had approached took a look at all of it, and realized that it was pointing to some incorrect maps.
The problem was that I had never created a D2 texture, and always a _S texture, which wasn't needed.

Now my specular maps are merged into my lightmaps, and they are just _I
I still have the normal maps, which I prefer to be overly harsh. _N
And finally, the _D and _D2 maps, which essentially are identical.

They never appeared shader ready, because they were always pointing to the wrong maps, one of those being the _D map, where it should have been the _D2

Since discovering that, I deleted every segment I ever made, went through all of my textures, and created the proper maps. That took a few hours mind you, but its now better than ever.

The format of all of my maps are as a .dds , simply because I find them good to use, with a seeming feel of 'professionalism' about them... compared to a .png at least.

@Wraith Staff No problems man. If you read in the post above, that I will be doing some door variations, you mightn't need bother about explaining anymore, or you could suggest some kinds of variations that I could make for the door textures.

@Poloflece Games Should be no problems with that. Ill zip up the file (Ill include the .psd also, for modification and whatnot) and get it emailed to you later on this afternoon.

Oh, I promised you some screens of the pack, didn't I?
Well, I dont have much for it on my current computer now, but I do have a few. This computer NOT being my work one, all of the maps have been eddited and now stand at a slight better state than the following screens. I also apologize for the blotchy and horrible lighting. Nonetheless, here they are. These are only 3 of the 15-20 SciFi segments. I will show you some of the grunge segments later today.

Currently in the works of working out a website where all of this will be put up and hosted on.
I've also been trying a few more segments, and just some final adjusting on some too.

Progress has been much slower, because I am now back at boarding school, and have more work than ever

but hopefuly it won't be too long. I couldn't put an exact time on the release, but for every day waited, its another chance of more stuff.
I'm going to guess that this will be released in no longer than 3 weeks.
