I'm actually not waiting for the official release. I'm waiting until I am finished with one more inventory feature I mentioned earlier.

Announcement

I thank all who are interested and who may be convinced this is a worthwhile mod for FPSC. Therefore, I will release this as soon as I have finished and tested the new feature. So, watch for a new official thread by me. Thanks for everyone who has responded to this thread and for those who have viewed it.

Who's Mr Popular then?

Many congratulations on this, looks like a great step forward, not just to have you back witha new improved RPG Mod, but also it seems, within the camp, so to speak.
Well done Terry

Agree with FRH, Definetly one of the best and more innovatives mod around, or that were around, definetly a stable and it never should have taken away, i was learning how to Stabilize it

All the Features it Contains, you can make not only a RPG game, but every Genre! i think like i said, one of the more Ambitious and Innovatives mod

Hope to see RPG grow even more, Terry!

If I wasn't already using WASP mod for my game, this would be the only other mod I would consider using if it was made available again!

Definately, but I would need to learn some serious scripting skills first, as I am currently a complete scripting dummy lol

@Zappi

Not yet zappi. I have been helping Lee debug one more elusive bug, and then when he fixed it, I tested it 'til I dropped. It is now fixed and tested and so, I will be finishing up my current feature before I release it. After that a new official (the third or fourth one I believe over the last couple of years )

Hi Flatlander,

I have a could of questions:

You mention that RPGmod may end up being available via the TGCs website. Does that mean it won't be available via the forum?

Is it intended to update the mod in paralell to stock FPSC (i.e. will RPG mod be updated with v119,v120,etc.)?

Is there any chance we could see the user manual before it is released so we have whet our appetite for this mod?

I'm guess the answer will be 'no, sorry' but will the source be available? - (you don't ask you don't get, right?)

I'm looking forward to this.

Hi Ched80

I think I answered this a few posts back.

It will be released by an official thread and there will be a download link. God willing, I continue to update it as Lee releases updates. So this will take it through the most current update even before anybody else gets it. So, once I release this, even if beta 14 is not release yet, most of those updates will be in RPG Mod. I will probably hold off releasing any updates once v1.19 begins, although I will be updating a copy of the source code so that I can keep up with the release data. It is a pain to totally integrate RPG Mod into a new release.

OK, here is the documentation in the download link. It is NOT complete.

Edit: Although there are 82 pages.

Zappi, it'll be coming.

Regarding the documentation. I had to redact all the commands that had to do with the RPG Mod weapons inventory. V1.18 has so much code for weapons use and non-weapons games that it was becoming a lot more buggy than I liked and very difficult to fix. I personally don't think it is worth the effort. There basically is a weapons inventory as part of the weapons slots so I didn't thing I needed to fix the bugs. I just deleted (commented out) all the code regarding RPG Mod weapon tracking.

Am I a masochist for reading all 82 pages of that manual? heh.

If this goes public again,I'll make sure to write some tutorials for it.

@Wolf

I got it and sent one back at ya.

@Woolfman

Thanks. It still needs some work, though.

@Gencheff

You must be but I would really be grateful for any help with tutorials I can get.

To Everyone

I am about finished with the new feature. It just needs some tweaking. Also, I think I made an improvement when using inventory items. Probably most of you won't even know what I did.

Thanks DBV.

I will now be concentrating all my efforts to RPG Mod and my game. I am now in the process of finishing up the last feature as well as creating an app that will create all the necessary folders and make sure that all images that are needed will be in the right place. This is essential for RPG Mod to just get out of the gate when a test run is started. I want to try and make it as easy as possible.

I'm ready with the fpsc-game.exe file that contains RPG Mod. I am just finishing up the install app for the mod. I'll be gone for most of the afternoon. It is 12:05 here now.

Probably today some time. In the next several hours.

There will be only two folders and one file to copy. However, you will need to follow the instructions to the letter. Or you may find it crashing. Although, it isn't that difficult to "install."

I will not be available for help a lot of the time. However, I will check the official thread every once in awhile. I will repeat this and more when I make the official thread.

EDIT:

Thanks DarkJames for the support. I have re-learned how to resist pressure, though.

@zappi

I understand. And don't worry about the English. Over the last 30 years we've had international students stay with us or we have sponsored and can cope with broken English. I just wish I could write like we had learned to talk. Very slow and simple words.

Look for it anytime now. I'm almost ready to post the thread.
