Hi,

Some of you may have seen the most recent "Blaze of Glory" by a disgruntled forum user. While I don't wish that particular thread to be rehashed in here, there are a few things I would like to say.

1. If I ban/slap/moderate you in any way, I will post in the thread letting you know that it was me, and on the very rare occasions where I miss this, I always make a note on your profile that I did the moderation and what it was for, so you can always ask another mod to check if you are confused as to why you are moderated. If I post in a thread in which you have been ban/slapped/moderated it does not automatically mean I moderated you.

2. If you have a problem with the ban/slap/moderation you have received by myself feel free to email me. The email address I use for this site does get checked everyday. I live in Australia, so unless you live in my timezone don't expect an immediate response.
If you can't be civil in the email you send me, then don't expect a response at all.

3. You agree to the Acceptable Usage Policy when you join the forums. If you failed to read the AUP and then get moderated for breaking it, the only person to blame is yourself. Not the mod who moderated you, not user x who did something similar but didn't receive moderation. Email a moderator, it really is the best way to make sure posts/threads that are out of line get dealt with as soon as is possible. I have a life outside of these forums, you know

4. I am not an employee of TGC. So if you think that by pirating their software and/or providing links to pirated versions of their software you are hurting me in any way. You are not.

--------------

I will leave this open for discussion, if anyone feels the need to discuss anything that is. Sensible discussion, mind you, as soon the thread starts to go downhill I will lock it, and probably noob slap you

A man will one day wear a tophat in glasgow on a sunny day juggeling grapes while humming the jurrasic park theme tune.

I have a question.

Of course you know of the little button (Report this message . . .) in the lower right corner of all posts.

It seems to be for "abusive" posts. However, I have used it when I just wanted to report something that I think is out of line. I may not be offended by it or I may not think the post is abusive to me but just want to make sure a moderator looks at it.

So, the question is, "Can I use this button for that sort of thing, or should I just email a moderator."

Obviously, it is much easier to use the button and gets the job done right away.

BTW, I thank all the mods for the job they do. Kudos to you all. You are appreciated by all of those who want a "happy" forum.

I've moderated before and boy is it shallow water. I'd really hate to have to deal with that daily again. Kudos to you Thraxas and others!

Speaking of the "Report this message" button - isn't it about time we have a "Praise this message" button to balance things out?

As said above - I think all the mods do a stiring job in making this forum a great place
