A long, overdue hello to everyone!
I have maintained a fairly low profile around here for (give or take) a year. I halted all game development and FPSC usage as I got caught up with university life and exams and thought that was that.
But, after logging on last week and casually browsing through the work of various developers (which I must say is of a very high standard), I started to get the development pangs again. I'm amazed at how FPSC has come since I left it 1 year ago, and am eager to get to grips with all of the new shiny new toys!

.
However, after looking at the current standard and advancements of FPSC and various projects, I'm feeling like a small fish in a big pond. If I was to return to the FPSC world, I anticipated remaining in the shader development realm, and perhaps keeping my projects small (perhaps 2-3 level chapter releases which amount to a final big project. Quality over quantity gentleman. In short, Bond 1, and many other developers have achieved things I could only dream of in my absence, and from looking at my past work, part of me feels that my return to FPSC would be similar to bringing a knife to a gun fight. I just can't compete with the developers of now.
Sure, I may of been considered "good" in 2008/2009 etc, but the standard is now so high (to which users who joined in 2010/2011 are producing stuff which puts me in my place). I want to return, and become active in contributing shaders etc to the community again, but it seems like such a daunting task after being away for a long while.
Yours
