they used to have a competition on Radio1 with this...
where they'd give you the translated version and say what it was translated from and you'd then have to text in the answer which would be a song title.

Yay, booze! I wonder if the makers of Babelfish hit the booze. Particularly when they read what their brainchild did.

Say hello to my little friend!

[en>ger>en]

legends hello to my small friend

^^ imagine al pacino(scarface) coming out with that.

Here is an interesting story for you guys to mull over,

the reason it is called babelfish is because they stole the name from a british book/tv series called hitchhikes guide to the galaxy in which there were small fish(babelfish) which if you held them to your ear you could understand any language.
Its called a babelfish because (i think) a story in the bible called the tower of babel was all to do with the creation of languages.

The chicken inspired the author to write about cocks.

Eng/Korean/Eng

The chicken made the rubber which regarding a cocking writes the
writer.

out of sight, out of mind

to Russian - back to English

invisible idiot

thats a rather old one, also the one where the university where demonstrating a new AI system that was supposed to converse "just like a human" (it`s always fatal to make grand claims about your software to someone who hasn`t used it before ) , the visiting dignitary was seated at a console and told to type in anything he liked and the computer would reply just like a human would, so he typed

time flies like an arrow

and the computer replied quick as a flash

yes!, but fruit flies like a bannana

think about it, you can see where it was coming from

Runny eggs taste bad, I would rather have green eggs and ham.

English to Japanese

柔らる悪状態を味む緑よムを食る。

Back to English

Be too soft, the egg tastes bad state, I on the other hand eat the egg and the ham of green.
