DarkBASIC Professional Discussion / What are 'static objects' good for, and are they available for custom 3d models?

I suspect they are faster to draw, but that's just a guess. There is so little to find about this, and the help neither explains anything, just the bare minimum for a programmer who actually knows what a static object is. But i'm not that programmer right now.

Also, as i browsed the forums topics, i found a 6 years old thread where someone said it is only for FPSC stuff. Is this still the case, or i can make my own objects to use as static?

It makes it easier to save and load levels and I guess that would make your game run quicker as it is only one object being rendered instead of many. Maybe it ignores animation data too and just stores the mesh...?
