You must install the latest DirectX9 from Microsoft's website. DirectX 10 and 11 aren't backwards compatible. DirectX 10 comes integrated with Windows 7 and Vista.

It's wrong. FPSC only runs on a recent version of DirectX 9, which runs on both Vista and Windows 7 both fine. You can get it from here. It won't interfere with your DX11 installation since it can be installed side-by-side.

Zim,
Not sure that DirectX is your issue, I have DirectX 11 installed and everything runs fine. I think you may be leaning towards a hardware issue.

What version of FPSC are you running?

Could you take a screen shot of the error when it comes up, so we can see exactly what the error is saying?

im using
Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit
DirectX11
FPSC x10
and everytime i make a level just a simple one to i click test level it says "Could not find any compatible Direct3D devices."
right after a click ok it will then say "The application has encountered a problem and needs to close." i click ok again
and it will close FPSC x10
But if i go to DXDIAG it says
Direct3d acceleration is Enabled
also says Directdraw acceleration is Enabled
so whats wrong and how do i fix it

You can't remove DirectX 10 or 11. Installing DX9 is a must, but if you can't,it seems you have a problem. Have you updated your graphic card driver? I noticed you have integrated graphics card which might not be good enough to run FPSC.

Not familiar with FPSC x10, sorry. You might have better luck posting in the FPSCX10 boards though.

Quote: " Installing DX9 is a must"

As I said before, I have DirectX 11 installed and everything works fine for me.

Quote: "integrated graphics card"

I do think this is where your problem might be coming from.

Wish I could help more, but you might be next to on your own with FPSC X10. Support and official development of FPSC X10 has been dropped by TGC.
Majority of us run FPSC X9, there was something mentioned before that FPSC X10 users could switch to FPSC X9. You may want to look into that.

Not garanteed, just saying you will get a lot more help with FPSC X9 because that is what most of us are using and it has its own set of common errors that most of us have quick fixes and answers for.

Quote: "ive been to intel says all my drivers are up-to-date
"

Right, I understand that, but if the hardware itself does not support certain aspects of FPSC X10 it simply won't work.
(That is if that is the case)
It would be nice if all you had to do was have up to date directX, I would have less grey hairs for one lol

If you are hanging onto FPSC X10 simply because DirectX 10 is newer than DirectX 9, don't.

FPSC X9 is great and rather you realize it or not, Many commercial games are still being based off of DirectX 9 because of it's stability and flexibility.

[EDIT]
Just noticed you have multiple threads in the X10 boards on this same issue and we are all telling you pretty much the same thing.
You have your answers.

Hello zim12395

Sorry about your problem with FPSC x10, however if you allow me I may to recommend you check the post titled: "Official FPSC X10 System Requirments" in http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=138684&b=33 and check if your video board and operating system are compatible with the FPSC X10 or not compatible.

Also, I have FPSC X10 running on Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 with video board NVidia 9600 GT, directx11 and everything works fine as far as possible until now.

I hope this can help clarify your problem.

Regards.

You can download FPSC Free (which is a version of X9) and use your X10 serial to unlock it. You won't have access to all the media provided in the full (disc) version but there is so much free content available on the forums that it shouldn't be a problem.

As I understand it (and I'm pretty sure I did it) you simply install DirectX9 onto your system, you can run both DX11 and DX9 without them conflicting with each other.

Thraxas ive tried to run DirectX9 installer but it just says "There is already a newer version of DirectX installed there is no need to install" and then just closes
and so you think switching to DirectX 9 will fix my problems?

I'm pretty sure X10 runs on DX10 and above and not DX9 but you can check the X10 forum to make sure.

I would bet your problem is the Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset. It's just not made for gaming.

Maybe DirectX 11 is compatible with DX9 in a way that DX10 wasn't... although I'm sure I installed DX9 on this sytem while 11 was on it

Download FPSC Free, from the main page. I have a feeling that even though you have an integrated graphics card it will run X9... You might not get a great frame rate but you'll probably be able to use the software...

Try it and see

Your graphics card DOES NOT SUPPORT DirectX 10,it says you have DirectX 10 installed, but it is unusable. So you can't run FPSC x10.

zim12395,

Unzip and run this program... just double click the exe.
When it opens, click on the "Select FPS Creator Folder" button and select your FPS Creator folder from the "Select Folder" dialog.
Then click on save. It will create a file with your system info. Select all, copy, and then paste the info here.

Minimum system requirements for X10:

CPU: 2GHz minimum. 2.66GHz Dual Core recommended.
Memory: 1GB minimum. 2GB recommended.
Misc: 2GB Hard Drive Space. DVD Drive. Printer to output user guide.

Sorry, but it's just not going to run. You don't meet the program minimums, especially that Mobile Intel(R)video that's using a portion of your main RAM memory.

The program is written in VisualBasic 2010.

Based on those specs, it looks like you're trying to run it on a netbook which is just not designed for this type of thing.
