advanced_terrain is slow? how to use properly advanced_terrain


I'm using advanced_terrain in my game. Can I combine advanced_terrain with shaders?

It can be pretty slow if your "split" value is not properly tuned to the resolution of your heightmap. Try using different values to get the best performance.

Yes, although it can involve a bit more work than applying shaders to a standard object.

If you are trying to render anything above a 512x512 heightmap then I would suggest you use BlitzTerrain.

I used a advanced_terrain with 2048x2048. It was fast!

I used exclude_limb as the distance!

What do you think?
