Hello everyone,
I am having some trouble learning some of these things in FPS creator.
1.Say for example, I have a HUD, I put the correct files in their places but when I load the game, their is either no hud at all or the room texture is messing up the entire screen... I got this from a 'Ghost Recon' HUD. I put all its files in order but it never displayed correctly. How would I go about making Huds work?
2.If I want a window inside a building(like a lab with an experiment window room) I put the wall in the position I want it, then I put whatever window frame in it... The problem is that when I test the game, There is no window.. Just a wall in the window frame. How do I fix that so that I have a wall and a window frame in it?
3. Overlays, I have seen them before but how do I make one of my own? like I have a ghost pic and I want it to show up in the game... how do I do that?
4. Am I missing anything here? The manuel doesn't really talk about these things... And I also wanted to know how I could make a game that is dark and the light coming from a light source would glow and reflect off of objects. I see tons of horror games with really crisp entities and amazing lighting..

5. How do I make fog appear in my game?
6. What about water? I've seen it but haven't figured it out.

7. (Not really an issue) Why are the games hosted here like only 100+ MB? every time I make a game, no matter how big a level, its ALWAYS 400+ MBs... Is there some kind of problem here?

EDIT: forgot to make a close to the post

Thank you all for reading this and I really hope that I can learn these things with your help

Hello Mudbud Productions,

I'll try to answering not all but some of your questions.

Your question #02 (windows)

What about this question, please watch the video titled Adding glass, about dynamic glass windows, not about fake windows in the following link:

FPS Creator Video Tutorials - Effects

http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2001&page=effectsvideos.

Your Question #05 (Fog)

Check out the following link:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=183047&b=21

Your question #06 (water)

Just click and drag a trigger zone icon and drop it into your scene. After that, right click on it and under AI script section you will see the word Main. Now click on plrinzone.fpi on the right, this will shows up a little button on the right in this row, Click on it.

This will shows up the scriptbank window. Now,you should search for waterscripts folder, after that click on that folder to open it. Next step is click on water.fpi file and click on button open. After that, on the button Apply Changes, and that's it! Finally test your level.

If you wish increase or decrease the water level, just press Page up button or Page down button.

What about executable compression file and HUD issues, sorry I can't help you in this moment. Maybe another skilled mates in this community may help you better than me.

I hope this be useful for you.

All the best.

Hello Mudbud Productions,

Don't mention it!

First of all, I am happy that my information has been helpful to you.

In my last post in this thread, I forgot to answer question about overlays.

The following link you can use the software by OVERLAZE ExploSoft.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=182918&b=21

I do not have tested the software above, but I think it must be good because many members of this forum have made a positive assessment about that software.

However, there are some people who reported warnings from antivirus or firewall programs regarding the existence of malicious code on

Overlaze. This actually happened with my antivirus program installed on my PC (Norton Antivirus), which aborted the download that sofrware. Also on my laptop's antivirus program NOD32 did not detect any threat.

So, before writing this post I sent the Overlaze software to VirusTotal web site to be analyzed. Fortunately it seams to be just another false positive file, because nothing has been found after being analyzed by 40 (forty) antivirus programs, as you can see in screenshot attached.

Another great software is SIGNS III, but it seams to be dead or something like that, and Firma V2.0 very good one software, this still being alive I think so. Here it is the link:

Wow, there are a lot of stuffs for you play around.

That's all folks!

Have fun.
