I hope this doesn't count as spam

However: FPSCreator is around for almost 6 years now and there where quiet some great Projects coming up here and there!

So yeah! I just wanted to ask what's your absolute favorite until now (finished, Work in progress, discontinued...doesn't matter) and why

Well, my absolute favorite was and is "fall of the fireflies"

From todays point of view, its old and some of you might not like it, but when Butterfingers released it, everything in the game was kinda new. The Lightrays, the awesome presentation, the guns, the selfmade models and characters. It was a blast! Keep in mind that these days most people where still messing something together using stock media only.

This game inspired me a lot... I was still a lot younger and I was really astounded by all the stuff that guy had in his game. I guess a lot of my nowadays style has his roots in this little project.

So, what about YOU?

-Wolf

...oh! and yeah: Your own project doesn't count

Mine wasn't a typical FPS game but by coincidence was from the same mind. "Umbra" took me to a place I had not before considered for FPSC. His dream like environment that required neither rhyme nor reason intrigued me and shortly after playing it I started working on one of my own named "Hypnagogia". The freedom of this type of development, to stray from the norm without explanation or limitation is a lot of fun.

There have been more professional looking and "pretty" games made, but none that grabbed me like Umbra.

Brian.

I'm new to FPSC but I've downloaded just about every finished game I could find and really liked Eldora.

I'm not even into Fantasy style games but I liked the cut scenes and Rolfy's use of the enviornments he imported in. The music also set the mood well. If I hadn't used FPSC I wouldn't know it was made with a 50 dollar program (unlike my WIP, lol.)

I also really liked the visual style of BIGHATBOY. I haven't seen anything else that creative visually (if you know of any I'd love to check them out).

Deprivation DirectAction has an excellent amount of replay quality and has really great gun-play!
Dark House is very original by the way the levels were made (in a modelling program)
Beyond Life is a pure classic, showcasing that FPSC is worth buying. Beyond Life Rebirth is looking good so far!
Relict has a rare (for FPSC) time-period (medieval fantasy) and has melee combat.
And there and plenty of others.

I can't choose what one I like the most, they are all good in different ways and it depends what style you are looking for.

Thats a bunch, Uzi...and two of mine

I'm not so sure about beyond life 2, Kravenwolf hasn't shown much yet, but I'm sure he'll handle that.

I'm sure there will pop up some more interesting games in this thread, just check back in a few days

HCZ was always my favourite. And I loved Fall of the fireflies too. But if I take my "nostalgia" glasses off, then I quess there isn't all that much going for them... But what there is two games that I'm REALLY waiting for:
Relict.
I haven't seen this good medieval game in FPSC since Eldora (was it Eldora, I think it was) and all the screens and updates have been killing me.
The other one is:
Alpha Project.
This is like waiting for a Valve game, but in FPSC. It's taking so damn lonb, but process looks so great that it's all worth the wait in the end (I believe). And when it comes out, I am 100% sure it will become that Half-Life 2 of FPSC.

Alpha Project, Relict, E.L.E. and of course, Physix

I just think that the first 2 are shining examples of FPSC at its finest. E.L.E. is one of my favorite vaporware titles of all time, let alone FPSC and of course Physix is my team's and we've been working on it solidly since 2008! If I didn't love it so much, I'd have no will to keep going and neither would my team.

Yeah, I was expecting more people to post here too!

Unfortunately, Physix is still WIP and will be released commercially when it's done. We have some of our older stuff on our site, but haven't had a demo for a while

We had a contract with a publisher, GamePro Labs, but they decided to discontinue the publishing program to focus solely on the magazine. We've been in contact with a couple other publishers after that and we're aiming for a Steam release late this year or early next year.

I wish we had a good demo out, but a new "public" demo won't be out until after we give it to the publishers, though we are giving an early demo to a few seasoned developers I'm fortunate to know to see if it's even worth submitting to "the big boys"... If you want an early copy, Wolf, I'd be happy to give you one when it's ready. My team and I really value your opinion

Me too, I really can't believe that so few forumites have favourite FPSC projects, are they really all so bad that they've made so little impression on people?

I for one don't believe so, there's been some cracking projects, even in the short time I've been a member, although, admittedly, there's also so been some not so good ones (including mine maybe lol).

Which would indirectly involve me in another game project and help me on my path to world domination...so yes!!

Just kidding! I would certainly like to see this.

Izolis was a game by Coffeegrunt which sadly was never complete. It was pretty good!

My personal favourite is the PoM series of games. While flawed, I thought those were very creative games and ultimately very enjoyable to play.

Exactly the same reason they're also my favourites. I thought the story telling was particularly well done.

My favorite so far would have to be that Children of Dragon game or something like that...

I think you're the creator of it, Wolf, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, that's my favorite so far...

Another one is Beyond Life. I think Starmind created that one. Not sure. But looks really good nonetheless.
